REVIEW: We Tried a Spooky NEW Dole Whip Treat in Disney World!

Know what the best part of fall is? The fact that you can celebrate one holiday — HALLOWEEN — for approximately three full months. At least in Disney World, anyway. Over in Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is already in full swing!

Happy Halloween!

Plus, we get to enjoy alllll the festive Halloween decorations and special merchandise in the parks and resorts. But wanna know what’s even better? All the spooky Halloween treats that are available in Disney World! There are a TON of spooky snacks available this year, and of course, we couldn’t wait to try a few! Come with us to Disney Springs to try some NEW treats at Swirls on the Water

Swirls on the Water has THREE new desserts this fall! The new Halloween-themed menu items are available from September 1st through October 31st, so you have plenty of time this fall season to indulge in some festive treats.

Swirls on the Water

Let’s start with the new Haunted Mansion Cone. It’s a pistachio and purple cheesecake soft-serve swirled in a black vanilla cone with a Hitchhiking Ghosts chocolate medallion. You can try it for $6.49.

First, take a look at it — this is a treat you’ll want to get just for your Instagram photos.

Haunted Mansion Cone

Okay, so our reporter isn’t a big fan of pistachios, but we still thought that the flavors in this cone were well-balanced. Granted, you definitely get that pistachio flavor, but it doesn’t overpower the other flavors in the cone. The sprinkles add a nice crunch (who doesn’t love sprinkles?).

It’s definitely a looker!

We also decided to check out the new DOLE Whip Sampler, consisting of 1.) DOLE Whip and vanilla soft-serve with pineapple wedge, 2.) pumpkin and salted caramel soft-serve with caramel sauce and caramel crisp pearls, and 3.) pistachio soft-serve and purple cheesecake soft-serve with roasted salted pistachios. Whew! There’s a lot going on there. It’s available for $7.49.

Dole Whip Sampler

So first, the DOLE Whip with vanilla soft-serve and pineapple wedge is a nice break from the other two flavors. It’s just a standard Dole Whip, but the other two treats are SO sweet that the tartness of this is a nice way to break up that.

Classic Dole Whip FTW

Our absolute FAVORITE, though, was #2 — the pumpkin and salted caramel soft-serve. Y’all, this is what fall tastes like. The salted caramel also adds a nice flavor to the pumpkin and you get some crunch from the pearls for texture.

Our FAVORITE

Now, the pistachio soft-serve and purple cheesecake soft-serve with roasted salted pistachios is almost identical to the Haunted Mansion Cone flavors, so we pretty much felt the same way about this one as we did the cone.

It’s the same as in the Haunted Mansion Cone

Of course, we couldn’t forget the new Apple Cider Slush with Pumpkin Soft Serve!

For $5.99, you can try an apple cider and pumpkin soft-serve slush served with an apple slice. This is a non-alcoholic drink, BUT you can also get the alcoholic version available with Fireball Cinnamon Whisky.

Pumpkin AND apple together at last

This was another treat that made us think of cool autumn days. The pumpkin soft serve reminded us a LOT of the pumpkin ice cream from Trader Joe’s. It’s not like a pumpkin spice flavor, but more like a true creamy subtle pumpkin flavor. Adding the sweet apple cider is a GREAT way to combine two of fall’s best treats into one.

This one was another win!

We do have a word of warning about ALL these treats: they melt fast. So you’ll have to keep plenty of napkins on hand and eat them quickly!

We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
