The final performance of Rogers: The Musical took place on August 31, but new reports indicate it wasn’t a permanent curtain call. Rogers: The Musical is rumored to return in early 2024.
Some may wonder why the popular show is taking a break, with no other productions slated for the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure, but among the reasons would be that the Disneyland Resort is running wildly popular seasonal offerings for Halloween Time and the Holidays, leaving little reason to extend an additional show right now.
As it stands right now, while certainly subject to change, Rogers: The Musical would take back the stage in February 2024.
The show debuted as a summer special in 2023, and the Cast Recording Album was released on streaming services earlier this month.
Rogers: The Musical
The one-act musical was inspired by the fake Broadway show seen in “Hawkeye” on Disney+. It tells the story of Steve Rogers, the First Avenger, in his journey to become Captain America and beyond. It contains spoilers for Marvel Cinematic Universe movies through “Avengers: Endgame.”
During its 2023 run, the show utilized a standby queue, a virtual queue, and an upcharge Premium Viewing Experience that included first choice at seating, a lanyard, a themed popcorn bucket with Captain America-themed popcorn, and a soda. It’s unknown if it will return, but you can see our full review of the Premium Viewing Experience here.

“Rogers: The Musical” at Disney California Adventure park is inspired by the fictional Broadway musical theater sequence featured in the first episode of the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” This new musical project will come to life through the creativity of Disney Live Entertainment in partnership with book writer Hunter Bell, star and book writer of the Tony Award-nominated “[title of show],” and will feature five all-new songs with music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Lennertz and lyrics by Jordan Peterson, Christopher Lennertz and Alex Karukas. Plus, fan-favorites songs “Save The City” from the Disney+ series “Hawkeye” (written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman), and “Star Spangled Man” from the film “Captain America: The First Avenger” (written by Alan Menken and David Zippel).
