Shanghai Disney Resort has announced that construction has begun on the development of the its third themed hotel.
New Themed Hotel Coming to Shanghai Disney Resort
The hotel is planned to be a deluxe accommodation, with 400 rooms once opened, joining the 420-room Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the 795-room Toy Story Hotel.
Located on the shores of Wishing Star Lake, the future hotel will offer views of Shanghai Disneyland, as well as new indoor and outdoor recreational amenities and programming.
This new accommodation will also “immerse guest in spaces and activities which showcase Disney characters and stories,” according to a press release, as well as introduce new dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings.
The art style of the hotel will be influenced by Art Nouveau architecture and design, infused with Disney storytelling, and will serve as an homage to Shanghai’s 20th century architectural legacy.
The groundbreaking was attended by representatives of Shanghai Disney Resort’s joint venture shareholders, Shanghai Shendi Group and The Walt Disney Company, executives of Shanghai Disney Resort, and leadership from the Administrative Commission of Shanghai International Resort, as seen in the photo above.
