The One Rule Everyone Forgets About Disney World Hotels

Disney World hotels aren’t just any ol’ regular hotels, y’all.

Grand Floridian Resort

They contain lots of great Disney theming, and just like the parks, the hotels each boast a few dining and shopping options. That said, the hotels are popular Disney World destinations in themselves! A lot of folks DREAM of staying at these hotels so that they can experience the theming, eats, and activities at the hotels for themselves. What a lot of people don’t realize, though, is that dreaming isn’t necessary. You can do those things whenever you want!

What many folks forget about the Disney World hotels is that you do not have to be staying at the hotel in order to visit. Without a hotel reservation, and without a park ticket, you can stroll in to the Disney World hotels and shop, eat, and even participate in movie nights, crafts, and other fun games and activities.

It’s important to note, though, that you can’t park at the hotels unless you have a valid dining reservation. So, if you’re hoping to shop, walk around, or grab quick service food, you’ll want to take Disney transportation to the hotel. However, if you book a reservation at a table service spot at a hotel, you can eat, shop, and walk around all within that time frame.

Oh, and just as a bonus reminder: You can’t use the hotel pool unless you’re staying there. That is the one downside, but you’ll find it’s a huge plus if you do find yourself staying at that hotel and using the pool. They get crowded enough already!
