You’ve obsessively researched your next Disney World trip for the best tips and tricks for everything from what to pack to which are the best places to eat, but there’s one tip we HAVE to share with you, otherwise, its reality may hit you like a ton of bricks!
Traveling with kids is hard, and making sure you’re appeasing them and each of their individual personalities while also trying to balance the right amount of being entertained versus being overwhelmed can be rough. We’re here to offer you one tip that might bring you just the right balance because we can almost guarantee you’ll hear about it during your vacation.
It’s inevitable, but you know we’re right. When you come to Disney World for a vacation you’re probably wracking your brain over all of the rides, shows, parades, and fireworks you can pack into one vacation, but you’re missing something from your list already. Once you realize it, it’s going to seem so obvious, but chances are your kids only have one thing on their mind when they hear “vacation.”
If you’re traveling with kids the best tip we can possibly give you is to know going into this vacation they’re going to want a break… and not just any kind of break — pool time. That’s right… we just heard you facepalm yourself through the screen; we’ve been there too! Although you’re likely spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for your Disney vacation, any hotel stay for kids seems to boil down to just one thing– how much time they’re going to get at the pool.
If you really think about it though — and head them off by anticipating this — it could add value to your trip! You’ll all probably need time to recharge your batteries at some point during your vacation, and you know the folks you’re traveling with best. If you think they may need more frequent breaks, it’s okay to schedule that into your plans as frequently as you need. Pool time can make for a nice rejuvenating break during the hotter days, or as a way to wind down in the evenings.
If you plan on attending an after-hours event or special ticketed party night, consider building pool and resort time into your plans for earlier in the day so you’re able to take full advantage (and value) of that special event through the evening without your kids begging to leave and head straight for the pool.
Overall, you know your group best and if that means figuring out ahead of time when you can fit the inevitable pool time into your schedule, we think you’ll be ahead of the curve and the hero of your kids’ best trip ever!
