Emotions were palpable as preparations for the final performance took place. Thousands of guests gathered in front of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant and down Main Street U.S.A., many of them bringing their own balloons with some even crying. Hundreds of people recited the opening narration as it played for the final time.
Guests clapped, danced, and sang along as the performance started. After the grand performance took place in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, Mickey, Minnie, and others again boarded their float and rode down Main Street U.S.A., dancing and waving as they concluded the final performance just as they had every other showing. The farewell waves hit a bit harder this time as guests bid adieu with waves and celebratory bubbles, some even wiping tears from their eyes.
“Dream… and Shine Brighter!”
The “Dream… and Shine Brighter!” parade debuted in March 2022 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. It went on a temporary hiatus for the 2022 holiday season but returned for the “Grand Finale” of the anniversary celebration, which commenced on January 9. With Disneyland Paris officially concluding its 30th anniversary festivities on September 30, 2023 (the 30th anniversary of the park’s opening was April 12, 2022), the “Dream… and Shine Brighter!” parade will no longer operate.
Disneyland Paris is generally renowned for the quality of its entertainment options, and “Dream… and Shine Brighter!” was well-regarded among them. The emotion of the crowd during the final performance indicates its popularity, and the parade even received its own clothing line as part of a larger Disneyland Paris 30th anniversary merchandise collection earlier this year.
Disney Stars on Parade, which has been running at Disneyland Paris since 2017, was not a 30th anniversary exclusive event and, thus, will be unaffected by the stoppage of 30th anniversary festivities. According to DLP Report on Twitter, it will run in tandem with Mickey’s Halloween Celebration throughout the Halloween season.
