VIDEO: Watch Our FULL WALK-THROUGH of the NEW Moana Attraction in Disney World

Make way, make way — a new attraction is opening soon in EPCOT and we’ve got all kinds of details to share with you!

Moana

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is an interactive, walk-through experience that will be opening this fall in EPCOT’s World Nature. The attraction allows you to interact with “living water,” learn about the natural water cycle (and how to protect and preserve water), and features all kinds of unique character details to hunt for. But what is it REALLY like to go through this attraction? Well, we grabbed tons of videos and photos during a special Cast Member preview and now we’re taking you along with us to experience it all.

Again, keep in mind that our experience is based on the Cast Member preview we attended. Things may be slightly different once the experience officially opens to the public, and if so, we’ll share some updates with you.

Entrance

As you enter the attraction, you’ll be met with the Journey of Water sign…

Entering

…as well as some important information about how you can get wet or you can opt to stay further away from the water. At certain parts of the walking path, things will split into a wet versus dry path. At those moments, you can opt for the dry path if you’d rather experience water from a safe distance.

After the signage, you’ll see one of the larger focal points in the attraction — a large piece of rockwork with mist coming out of it (water is featured in many forms in this attraction!) with the heart of Te Fiti symbol near the top.

Throughout the attraction, look for signs discussing the water cycle. These will help tell you what area you’re in and what Disney is trying to teach/showcase within that space.

The Water Cycle

Rain

The first section you enter is Rain. This is where the cycle begins with some “rain” (a.k.a. mist) descending from the rocks.

Rain

Also, be sure to heed Disney’s warnings — the water here is meant to be played with but NOT drank.

This is where you’ll also be able to touch strings of water located under some rockwork to make musical notes.

Stream

Next up is the stream section. You’ll get to learn about how rain runs over the ground and then makes a new stream.

Welcome to the Stream section!

In this section, look for some symbols on the floor. You’ll stand on those and “wave” to the stream in front of you to trigger some special effects — jumping water!

Wetland

Then you’ll hit the wetland area, where you learn about how streams spread out and soak the soil.

Headed for the Wetland!

Again, be on the lookout for options to opt for the dry path so you can keep yourself from getting too wet (if that’s what you prefer).

You can take the dry path instead!

There are portions where the water is on the floor itself (running across the path), so again, deciding whether to go for the wet or dry path can make a huge difference depending on your comfort level. There are plenty of water features here to admire and enjoy as you stroll along.

This will keep you nice and dry!

Spring

Then, you’ll hit the Spring space.

Spring time!

Land

Then, it’s time to learn about the land and how it is shaped by water.

This has one of the more unique features in the attraction — a cavern you’ll walk through where there is water streaming up from above. Walk slowly and the water will stop and part ways for you! Move too quickly, though, and prepare to get SOAKED.

After this section, you will find a path to use a restroom if needed.

The bathrooms are colorful and bright — plus, they make a great spot to change into dry clothing if needed!

Lake

Then, you’ll hit the Lake section, where you’ll find the giant Te Fiti figure overlooking a little lake.

There are beautiful waterfalls all around leading to small ponds and more jumping water in certain spaces.

It’s stunning!

We could see this space being especially beautiful at night!

River

Then it’s off to the River!

Off to the River!

Here, you’ll see some water next to the path (plus baby Moana)…

Look! It’s baby Moana!

All throughout the area, look out for interactive water features and splash pads on the ground.

Check out these splash pads!

Ocean

Finally, it’s time to hit the BIG water effect in the ocean space.

We’re headed towards the Ocean!

You’ll walk underneath some jumping water to get to the main area.

Look out for the jumping water!

This is the largest interactive water feature and does come with specific rules you need to follow, so please keep that in mind.

Some things to be aware of!

Here, you’ll jump on certain portions marked on the floor to send water back to the sky (a.k.a. have the water JUMP out!). And it’s a LOT of water, so be prepared!

Then, on your way out, you may see a water fountain to rehydrate, and that’s it!

Hidden Characters

Again, as we mentioned above, there are lots of hidden characters in the rockwork throughout the attraction, including Moana herself (in the Ocean area)…

Moana

…Hei Hei…

…and Pua! So keep an eye out for those!

PUA!

And that’s a look at the new Moana attraction. We’ll keep you updated once the experience has an official opening date.
