We are spilling a secret that we do all the time in Disney World.
We’re pretty sure we aren’t the only ones who are doing this at Disney restaurants, but you will have to let us know. Whether it’s at a quick service or table service restaurant, sometimes we do this to save some money. Can you blame us? Alright, we’ll stop procrastinating and share our secret.
So at Disney World restaurants, sometimes, we order kids’ meals. There are a few different reasons we do this — we’re just not that hungry, we want something more simple, or we want to save money. We have found some great kids’ meals around Disney World.
Quick Service
At quick-service restaurants, anyone can order from the kids’ menu. Each kids’ meal usually comes with an entree, two sides, and a drink. One of our favorite quick-service kids’ meals is the Cheeseburger Steamed Pod, which is a bao bun stuffed with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar. It comes with vegetable chips and a mandarin orange, plus a drink. The whole meal is $8.49.
These meals can fill you up, especially if you’re been enjoying snacking around the park all day too. We love that you get a decent amount of food for a cheaper price. Another great place to get one that is pretty filling is at Docking Bay 7 in Hollywood Studios. The Chicken Tip Yip comes with a piece of fried chicken, house-made macaroni and cheese, roasted vegetables, and a drink. In our opinion, this meal is plenty filling, so why not save some money on your lunch?
You can also do this at quick service locations that accept mobile ordering. This makes it worry-free and you can easily pick up your kids’ meal at a convenient time. Mobile Ordering does allow you to order kids’ meals and you will be able to choose your drink and sides when you order as well.
Table Service
At some table service restaurants in Disney World, you may be allowed to order a kids’ meal even though the menus do say they are for kids under 12. If you are interested in ordering a kids’ meal, just kindly ask your server if that is possible — just know that sometimes the answer could be no.
We do love the kids’ salmon from 50’s Prime Time Cafe or the Grilled Flat Iron steak from Grand Floridian Cafe. Both of these come with two sides and a drink. If you are not able to order off the kids’ menu, you should be able to find something similar on the adult menu. If you aren’t hungry enough for a full meal, just ask for a box to pack any leftovers to take back to your hotel.
