The company also wrote that they’re looking for “energetic and expressive candidates who are 5’10”-6’1″ with warm, engaging, and outgoing personalities.” The post described Luisa as “sensitive and giving.”
Potential Locations for Luisa at Walt Disney World
Though it’s not yet known where Luisa will appear at Walt Disney World, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade seems like a possibility. The experience takes place at Magic Kingdom and has included Mirabel, the central protagonist from “Encanto,” since June 2022. Bruno, the uncle of both Mirabel and Luisa, will debut in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade on September 15, 2023, after a casting call was placed in June.
The timing of the posting coincides with the ongoing construction of a Mirabel meet and greet at Fairytale Garden in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. That character interaction is scheduled to start on September 15.
“Encanto” at Walt Disney World
After having an initially modest box office showing following its November 2021 release, “Encanto” became a smash hit for Disney after debuting on the Disney+ streaming service during that year’s holiday season. The characters from the film have made several appearances at Walt Disney World since its release, including Mirabel’s aforementioned appearances in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade and upcoming meet and greet. Mirabel, Isabella, Luisa, and Antonio even appeared in topiary form at the 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
An “Encanto” bus wrap debuted at Walt Disney World in late 2022, and it was recently announced that some of the gondolas on the Disney Skyliner will soon adopt “Encanto” theming. The movie’s presence could increase even further in coming years — during Destination D23 2023, Disney announced that Walt Disney Imagineering is currently developing a potential Tropical Americas-themed overhaul of Dinoland U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. “Encanto” was one of the intellectual properties included in shown concept art.
