We Finally Met Figment at EPCOT & Didn’t Wait 3 Hours!

I have been a loyal Figment fan since I was about five years old. I got so excited when Disney announced that he would have a meet and greet at EPCOT. At Destination D23 a week ago, they announced that the offering would start on September 10th. I made a theme park reservation immediately, and of course, I was met with a 3-hour line that quickly turned into a 5-hour line. My love for Figment is strong, but I couldn’t justify waiting that long in the sun with no shade.

Now it’s the middle of September, and I’ve been told that the line has drastically calmed down, so naturally, that means today is the day I’m meeting Figment. I couldn’t be happier.

Figment Meet and Greet – Location

The meet and greet spot, ImageWorks, is where Vanellope Von Schweetz used to meet until Figment moved in. A few changes were made to the area. Previously, the background showed a scene from Wreck-It Ralph and represented that more futuristic style. Now, it’s a colorful space with a huge paintbrush leading to a rainbow, and the floor he stands on looks like paint spilling, which is cute.

I also love that Dreamfinder is represented in the backdrop. It gives some recognition to old-school EPCOT, which makes me so happy. Also, look how cute he is!

Figment Meet and Greet – Experience

The actual experience was terrific. On opening day, the wait time was out of control, but today, I only waited 30 minutes to meet my favorite dragon. The queue starts near the ramp that leads you into this area. It’s a straight shot from the attraction’s exit, but if you walk in through the shop, you have to walk around to the back of the line, which is fine. It takes maybe an extra two minutes.

Next time I meet Figment, I want to ride the attraction first and then waltz right into the line instead of coming from the side entrance. I think it will be a more immersive experience that way.

Here is a look at what a 30-minute line looks like to meet Figment. It wasn’t too horrible, and it moved pretty quickly. The best part of the line is that it’s indoors.

I’ll be honest: I was thrown off by how tall Figment was, but once he hugged me, that concern melted away. I turned to him and told him that this had always been a dream of mine, and I was so happy that this dream was coming true. The way he started dancing around was so adorable, and then he gave me another hug. I walked away, and I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t believe I had just met a character I’d dreamed of meeting most of my life. It just felt surreal.

Alright, enough of me gushing over Figment. Let’s get into some important details. There is a PhotoPass photographer present to capture the magical moments. The character attendants have cards that have Figment’s autograph, so be sure to ask for one of those. It’s also important to note that there’s another meet-and-greet spot across from this one. There, guests can meet Joy from Inside Out. The wait times for these meet and greets are listed on the My Disney Experience app, but their appearance times are not on there.

Will you be stopping to meet Figment in ImageWorks on your next trip to EPCOT?
