17 Reasons You Should NOT Uber to a Grocery Store Near Disney World

If you’re staying at Disney World for more than 2-3 days, it can be better for your bank account (and for your stomach) to get a few groceries for your hotel room.

Groceries

After all, a Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll for breakfast each day starts to hurt the tummy a bit after the second time. It can be a better choice to have some cereal or instant oats back in the room. A lot of folks fly to Disney World and then Uber to and from a grocery store to grab a few necessities. This can be pretty inconvenient, as you could be spending that time relaxing and having fun! There are plenty of reasons why you SHOULDN’T Uber to a grocery store near Disney World, and we’re here to share those reasons with you.

We came up with 17 (!!!) reasons to save your time and NOT head over to a grocery store near Disney World. Let’s go!

1. Kroger delivers to Disney World hotels.

Not only does Kroger deliver to Disney World hotels, but they also deliver to many other hotels throughout Orlando!

Delivery!

Grocery delivery is a popular choice for many visitors, as groceries can be left at the desk in some cases or in refrigerated lockers at some hotels. Now, you might be saying to yourself, “I’ve never seen a Kroger in Central Florida,” and you would be right! Kroger doesn’t have any stores in the area, but they do have a large fulfillment center, and you can get their groceries delivered easily!

2. You won’t have to budget extra for a tip.

Ordering with Kroger Delivery isn’t like Instacart! Kroger employees are paid to pack your order and deliver it.

Tipping actually isn’t even allowed!

3. It’s a great way to get baby stuff!

Diapers, wipes, and formula are all major necessities when visiting Disney World with a baby. However, they’re all very bulky and take up a LOT of room when packing.

Get all the baby essentials!

Kroger delivery is a great way to grab those things to use throughout your trip without the hassle of packing them.

4. You can get snacks and drinks delivered.

A huge culprit when it comes to blowing the Disney budget is purchasing smaller snacks and drinks throughout the parks multiple times a day. You can take snacks and drinks into the parks with you as long as they’re not in a cooler.

Getting these snacks delivered so that you can take them into the parks with you is a great way to save money!

5. You can grab annoying-to-pack essentials.

There are a few things that we recommend taking to the parks with you that are just a major inconvenience to pack, especially if you’re flying. Ziplock bags and paper towels — both are great to have with you, but we don’t recommend storing a paper towel roll in your carry-on.

Save room on packing!

Getting these delivered is the way to go!

6. You can order alcohol.

Yes, you can order beer, wine and spirits through Kroger Delivery!

You can have wine in the parks AND back in the hotel!

However, you must meet them at bell services and present your ID.

7. Bell Services can accept your order if you’re in the parks.

Disney does charge a fee, but bell services can accept your order and hold it for you if you get caught up at the parks.

Grocery bags

Things do go much more smoothly if you’re there to grab the order yourself, but rest assured that your order will be safe if things happen!

8. You can avoid the Disney water!

One thing we DEFINITELY recommend is getting bottled water delivered. The bottled water in the parks and at the hotels is EXPENSIVE, and the tap water is… well, it can taste like sulfur.

You can get your own water

Bottled water is the only way that we stay hydrated while visiting Disney World.

9. You can order quickly and easily through the Kroger app.

Yep! You don’t even have to worry about keeping track of your order via your browser.

Your order information will all be located within the regular Kroger app (not the Kroger Delivery Now app), where you can make changes to your delivery and keep track of the order progress. If you don’t have the Kroger app yet, the best place to grab it is right here.

10. You can time the order to your arrival.

Within the Kroger app, you can select a time slot for your delivery and then pay through the app!

This way, you can time it to when you’ll arrive at your hotel so you can meet them there, or you can let bell services know what time your order can be expected if you know in advance that you won’t be around.

11. You can save $45 on your first 3 orders!

If you aren’t already using the Kroger app for deliveries, new customers can get $15 off each of their first 3 orders — a total of $45!

Plus you’ll find lots of digital coupons in the app that you can clip to save even more

12. Deliveries DO earn you fuel points!

One of the best perks of shopping at Kroger is that every purchase earns you fuel points, which you can eventually use to save a LOT of money on gas.

Save on fuel!

Deliveries count for fuel points, so you can actually save money in more ways than one by utilizing the service.

13. Quick solution if you’re sick or injured.

Not only can you order groceries, but you can also order over-the-counter medicines like pain relievers!

It isn’t uncommon to pick up a cold while visiting the Disney World parks, so this is a good option just in case.

14. You can grab sunscreen for LESS.

Packing sunscreen in your suitcase can be problematic because of TSA rules. Buying it in the parks is just more expensive than it needs to be.

Sunscreen

Kroger delivery? Your best choice! You can grab all sorts of sunscreen and have it delivered with your groceries.

15. You can grab FOOD STORAGE!

We mentioned Ziploc bags earlier. We love having Ziploc bags and food storage with us because it helps keep things mess-free in the parks while also giving us a way to take food back to the hotel with us since Disney does not offer to-go boxes or take out.

We definitely recommend some storage containers for things like ‘Ohana noodles, which you get a LOT of but quickly run out of room in your stomach.

16. Free delivery is available.

If you have a Kroger Boost membership that gives you free delivery at home, that works at Disney World, too!

This is a great way to save some extra cash.

17. In most cases, delivery is less than $10.

If you DON’T have a Kroger Boost membership, delivery is only $9.95 — and as we mentioned above, you can save $15 on each of your first 3 orders.

Kroger Delivery

Whereas other food delivery fees vary per delivery, Kroger’s is $9.95 every time.

And there you have it! What do you say? Will you be utilizing Kroger delivery from here on out? We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing.
