7 Rides Disney World Pros SKIP in Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is the original Disney World park, so it’s often the most popular.

Cinderella Castle

You can expect to find some pretty high crowds here throughout the day, as well as some pretty high wait times. However, there are over 30 attractions in this park alone, which helps spread out those crowds. Many Disney World pros decide to skip some of these rides though, allowing more time for their favorite attractions, parades, and more. Here are the 7 rides Disney World pros skip in Magic Kingdom according to our readers on Facebook!

Tomorrowland Speedway

The Speedway is one of the few remaining opening-day attractions (although it’s been renamed since then and had a few changes made). This attraction can seat 1-2 guests per car, and they drive the car on a track around the speedway.

Many guests choose to skip this ride because after you’ve ridden it once, or if your kids have grown up, it’s not as appealing. Plus, that strong smell of burning fuel on the track chases lots of people away.

Peter Pan’s Flight

Another opening day attraction, Peter Pan’s Flight is often skipped by many Magic Kingdom goers.

This is thanks to the wildly high wait times this ride usually sees. While this ride is usually continuously moving, each pirate ship can only fit 2-3 guests each. Its popularity plus its low capacity equals wait times of over an hour, and many guests just don’t feel that’s worth it for this short ride.

Astro Orbiter

Located high in the sky in Tomorrowland is Astro Orbiter, which many Magic Kingdom visitors choose to skip.

For one thing, this ride really is high up — it’s ABOVE the PeopleMover! The height of the ride is undesirable to many, but it’s also just a spinny ride, which the park already has two more of. While it does offer some pretty great views of Magic Kingdom, it’s not worth a long wait for many guests.

Mad Tea Party

Back in Fantasyland is Mad Tea Party, aka The Teacups. This is a major NO for many guests.

While the wait time for this ride isn’t usually about 10-15 minutes at its highest, it’s another spinny ride. Many adults don’t do well with these types of rides as they get older thanks to motion sickness, so while many parents will go on with their kids, a lot of them try to make it a one-and-done type of experience.

Space Mountain

Now this one is controversial, but a lot of our readers said Space Mountain is also a ride they skip!

A lot of our readers said they used to adore this ride, but it’s gotten too bumpy over the years and as an older adult, it just hurts. And when you’ve got an entire vacation of walking to go, hurting yourself on one ride that you could have avoided isn’t a good plan.

“it’s a small world”

“it’s a small world” is another opening day attraction that many DFB readers choose to skip.

For one thing, this ride is around 14 minutes long — that’s a LONG time to listen to the same song over and over. This is, again, very much a one-and-done ride for many guests.

Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Lastly, we have Magic Carpets of Aladdin located over in Adventureland.

Just like Astro Orbiter and Dumbo The Flying Elephant, this is just another spinny ride in the park, meaning lots of guests don’t see the appeal in it (unless they’ve got a kiddo who adores them). While this ride doesn’t see many high wait times, it has had a lot of trouble staying open recently, which is undesirable for guests visiting for a short period of time.

Magic Kingdom
