After five months of renovation work, Billy Bob’s Buffet will reopen in Disney Village at Disneyland Paris on October 22.
Billy Bob’s Buffet
Billy Bob’s Buffet is part of Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon, including Billy Bob’s and La Grange. Themed to the American West, it offers an all-you-can-eat Tex-Mex buffet and is sponsored by Coca-Cola.
After Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show closed permanently, the show’s bar area was absorbed into the Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon complex.
The Billy Bob’s Buffet renovation is just the latest update in Disney Village, which is undergoing a multi-year reimagining.
Disney Village Reimagining
The multi-year update to Disney Village was officially announced in 2022 and includes new stores and restaurants, as well as updates to pre-existing locations. In early 2023, The Royal Pub replaced King Ludwig’s Castle. Planet Hollywood also closed permanently. More recently, the golden emblems representing Disney Parks around the world returned to Disney Village.
Rosalie, a new French-style brasserie, is scheduled to open this December.
A new McDonald’s is also coming to the shopping and entertainment district. The current McDonald’s will continue operating until the new one is completed.
Here is more information from a Disneyland Paris press release earlier this year:
Construction work – that is scheduled to take approximately two years to complete – will be carried out in two phases to minimise the impact on guest experience at Disney Village. The first phase, from early 2024 to the following autumn, will include the transformation of Disney Fashion, Disney Fashion Jr, and The Disney Gallery. These shops, which will benefit from large, transparent windows to make them more visible from the main promenade, will be completely remodelled inside. Once completed, the shops will feature new shopping concepts such as Fashion & Lifestyle, Home Décor, Disney Art & Collectibles, and the major Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars franchises. The shops will include new layouts, fittings and decoration. The work also includes brand new facades to give Disney Village a new, more contemporary and inviting visual identity, with natural tones mixing wood, brick and metal, creating a dynamic and unified impression. Large awnings will also protect guests from inclement weather.
Finally, in the main outdoor area, extensive work on the grounds, surrounding landscape and lighting will be carried out to prolong the celebration of treasured Disney stories and experiences that guests are able to enjoy throughout the Parks and hotels at the resort. Original graphics created exclusively for Disney Village, including unique contemporary visuals paying tribute to Disney characters and imaginary worlds, will ornate the main strip and the facades, continually surprising and enchanting visitors as only Disney can do.
“We are extremely pleased to be starting works on the north block of Disney Village soon, which will begin its extensive transformation over the next few months. In addition to a more harmonious stroll with touches of Disney magic thanks to brand new facades, a completely reinvented atmosphere and interiors, this project will also improve life behind the scenes and the comfort of our Cast Members and Disney Village Partner employees. We’re experiencing ambitious and exciting times, and I can’t wait to see the new Disney Village come to life for all our guests to enjoy,” said Bruno Chastain, Disney Village Director.
