Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been evacuated and is currently closed to all guests due to a possible chemical exposure.
Guests riding on the resort line of the Walt Disney World Monorail are not being let off at the Polynesian. Several ambulances, firetrucks, and other emergency vehicles in the Polynesian parking lot are visible from the Monorail.
We spoke to guests staying at the Polynesian who said fire alarms went off and they were all escorted out of the resort. It is unclear at this time if the entire resort was evacuated, or if it was limited to specific areas.
Breakfast dining reservations have been canceled and no guests are allowed to re-enter the resort at this time. The emergency evacuation and closure are reportedly due to a chemical exposure, but this has not been confirmed.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more information.
