Disney Put TWISTS on 3 Classic Treats, and They All Totally WORK

Disneyland is the Happiest Place On Earth — not only for our minds and hearts but for our BELLIES.

Disneyland

Yeahhhhh, it probably comes as no surprise that Disneyland is one of our favorite places to grub. Some might even argue that Disneyland is the superior Disney Park when it comes to food, but that’s a debate for another day. 😉 Today, we’re headed to Disneyland to review three different treats scattered throughout the parks, and we’re taking you with us. What do you say? Are you ready to eat?

The first snack we’re trying actually takes us to Disney California Adventure — to San Fransokyo Square. That’s right, we’re headed to the recently-added Aunt Cass Café, inspired by the shop run by Hiro’s aunt in Big Hero 6. Here, we’re grabbing the Fluffy Japanese-Style Cheesecake for $6.99.

Fluffy Japanese-Style Cheesecake

Japanese-Style Cheesecake has the same flavors as your typical cheesecake, but possesses a different texture. It’s sometimes referred to as “soufflé-style” cheesecake as it has a lighter, airier texture. This one is topped with berry sauce! It looks great, but how will it taste?

Looks delicious!

When we took a bite, the texture was pretty impressive. It was perfectly light and fluffy, and was served at a cool temp, so it was pretty refreshing for a cheesecake dessert. The flavor of the cheesecake filling had notes of vanilla with a little bit of a tart taste to it. The berry sauce was nice and sweet, and it had a fresh fruit taste that can be hard to find in compotes and preserves like this.

The texture of this was amazing

So… Should YOU grab the Japanese-Style Cheesecake? Well, if you’re a big cheesecake fan and are hoping to try a unique twist on the dessert, then we totally recommend this to you. If you don’t like cheesecake, fruit, or tart flavors, you might want to skip it.

Next up, we’re headed back to Disneyland to a little spot nestled between Enchanted Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise. Yep, we’re headed to The Tropical Hideaway! This little spot is where you can grab some DOLE Whips and small plates. Today, we’re trying the Blood Orange Agua Float for $9.29.

Blood Orange Agua Float

This treat is a blood orange Agua Fresca beverage that’s been topped with a hefty serving of strawberry DOLE Whip and a lil’ orange garnish. In our opinion, you can never go wrong with a DOLE Whip float, but we’ll see how this one measures up.

YUM!

WOW. First impression: the Agua Fresca is SOUR. It’s way more sour than we expected. We probably wouldn’t ever get this to enjoy on it’s own. However, when the sweet DOLE Whip mixes in with the drink, it totally works. It’s sweet and sour at the same time and creates such a refreshing combination.

If you love the sweet and sour combo, you’ll love this.

If you love strawberry and citrus flavors, you will love this. Especially if you love sour and tart desserts. This could be a great treat for when it’s warm outside and you’re looking for something super refreshing.

Last but not least, we’re headed to Frontierland to Stage Door Cafe. Here, we’re grabbing a limited-time snack that’s available until October 15th. That’s right, this treat is part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration and is a Cinnamon-Chocolate Mexican Sweet Bread Funnel Cake. Alright, we’re officially drooling just from hearing the name.

Cinnamon-Chocolate Mexican Sweet Bread Funnel Cake

This twist on a classic funnel cake is $9.99 and is drizzled with cinnamon-chocolate sauce before it is then garnished with whipped topping and Mexican sweet bread. It looks amazing and we are SO excited to try this.

SO YUM.

Wow. It’s warm, sweet, chocolatey, and the hints of cinnamon laced throughout the chocolate sauce only enhance the flavors throughout the rest of the dessert. The flavors each pair so well together to create a delicious and comforting treat. The funnel cake is cooked PERFECTLY. It’s crunchy and crispy on the outside but when you bite into it, it’s nice and soft. You know, when the funnel cakes are so soft on the inside that they almost feel gooey even though they’re completely cooked? Yeah. That. SO YUM. The bread that was put on top of the funnel cake was also delicious. It’s nice and soft and has a great sweet flavor.

We love this treat

If you love chocolate, cinnamon, pan dulce, and classic funnel cakes, you’ll love this treat. If you don’t like the chocolate and cinnamon combo, maybe skip this one. One thing we love about this snack is that it’s a great size to share, but unlike other Disney funnel cakes, we could probably finish this one with ease.
