Walt Disney World Resort has announced that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will be closed to day guests from October 26 through November 2, 2023.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Closed For Day Guests From October 26–November 2
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will still be open to guests who have already booked reservations throughout that period. Guests without their own cabin, campsite, or dining reservations are typically allowed to visit the resort, but now will be unable to do so during this time.
The closure impacts the days leading up to and immediately following Halloween, including the holiday itself. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground features an annual Halloween golf cart parade where guests renting a golf cart decorate the vehicles with often elaborate and Disney-inspired costumes. Check out our video of last year’s parade here:
If you do not currently have your own reservation but want to visit Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground during this period, you may be in luck, as there are still a few reservations for the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue available for this timeframe, depending on your desired day and your party size.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a camping ground at Walt Disney World Resort that officially opened in November 1971, just narrowly missing the October 1 grand opening date shared by Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is situated on Bay Lake, a body of water near Magic Kingdom. It’s one of three resort hotels located on the lake, joining Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. A water taxi service connecting all three of the Bay Lake resorts by water returned on October 1, 2023.
Fort Wilderness is home to the famous “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” in Pioneer Hall. The quintessential dining experience has been a fixture of Walt Disney World since 1974. Live performers sing and dance in a Wild West stage show. Between skits, guests can enjoy fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, tossed green salad, baked beans, fresh-baked cornbread, and strawberry shortcake. Watch our video of the full show below.
