Disney’s Live-Action ‘Snow White’ Delayed to 2025, Official First Look at Film Revealed

According to Variety, Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of “Snow White” starring Rachel Zegler has been delayed one day short of a full calendar year.

‘Snow White’ Live-Action Movie Delayed

Previously, the live-action reimagining of Disney’s classic animated film was set to release on March 22, 2024. Reportedly due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “Snow White” will instead be released nearly one year later, on March 21, 2025.

A first look at Zegler and the dwarfs was also revealed amid the news on Twitter by Scott Gustin. The image includes Zegler as Snow White, surrounded by Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. In the image, the dwarfs look very dwarf-like, which is interesting considering Disney’s previous statements about their presence in the movie.

Back in July 2023, it was revealed that the film would be leaving the idea of the dwarfs behind in favor of seven “magical creatures.” Disney said this “different approach” was “to avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film.

It hasn’t been confirmed whether Disney has changed their mind on this stance in favor of sticking closer to the original animated film.
