EPCOT will be testing their new nighttime spectacular, “Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” overnight for two dates in November.
“Luminous” Fireworks Testing
Overnight fireworks testing will take place on Wednesday, November 1, and Saturday, November 4, from 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Disney did not explicitly say the fireworks testing is for “Luminous,” but the testing is just a few weeks before its debut on December 5, 2023. “Luminous” will be performed at 9:30 p.m. each night.
Guests staying at these resorts near EPCOT may see and hear fireworks during the testing:
- Walt Disney World Swan
- Walt Disney World Dolphin
- Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney Boardwalk Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
The tests will include pyrotechnics and special effects, but not other audio.
More About “Luminous”
“Luminous: The Symphony of Us” will replace “EPCOT Forever,” which is a temporary show that originally ran between the final performance of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” and the first performance of “Harmonious.”
“IllumiNations” ran from 1999 to 2019. “Harmonious” debuted on October 1, 2021, for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. It had its final performance on April 2, 2023, after which “EPCOT Forever” returned for another temporary run.
“Luminous” was supposed to debut for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, which took place on October 16, 2023, but was delayed, possibly due to the musical score.
“Luminous” fireworks dining packages will be available at Rose & Crown and Spice Road Table. We have seen fireworks barges and show platforms in World Showcase Lagoon as the show is completed.
