Is ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ a Halloween or Christmas Movie?

Every twelve months, my friend JP and I have the same argument. Part of me thinks he only brings it up to get me fired up, knowing that I may take the whole topic a little too seriously. Even so, this year, I wanted to throw the question over to our DIS audience to see what everyone else thinks. Coming up to Halloween, you might have already started working on your list of spooky season movies to watch. After all, we are all so busy these days that you can’t wait till the last minute and expect to see all your favorites before October 31st. Each year, we compare the movies on our lists, my friends and I judge each other’s choices hilariously harshly, and there is always one topic that starts an unstoppable debate. The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? There are strong arguments for both sides, though I am looking for a definitive answer to (hopefully) shove in JP’s face, with a little haha to go with it. I need your help. Give me your arguments for either side and don’t forget to vote on our social polls so I can get a really strong sense of which side is the winner. I’m not going to spill the beans on my point of view just yet (obviously, it’s the correct one!), but I am hoping that I come out victorious on this one.
