Is This SACRILEGE?! 4 Reasons to SKIP Magic Kingdom on Your Next Trip

Magic Kingdom is Disney World’s original park and is a favorite amongst many Disneygoers.

Magic Kingdom

But did you know some people are willing to skip this iconic park? We asked our readers on Facebook under what circumstances would they skip Magic Kingdom on their Disney vacation. While many of you said you would never DREAM of skipping the park, others gave some very valid points!

Crowds

The number one response was CROWDS! Magic Kingdom is one of the most crowded parks in the resort, and those crowds are very overwhelming for many people.

Not only does that mean you’re brushing shoulders with strangers everywhere you walk, but you’ll also be waiting in some pretty long lines. For people who get to visit the parks often, this is often a reason they choose to head to different parks.

If You’re NOT Focusing on Rides

If you’re not focusing on rides and instead want to eat delicious food, Magic Kingdom isn’t the park for many of our guests.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Magic Kingdom isn’t known for many great snacks (they are there, but they’re harder to find), and the main focus for many guests is the rides. Therefore, if you’d like to focus on other aspects of the parks, like live entertainment or good dining, the other parks may be better fits.

Going to EPCOT Instead

We’re not kidding when we say SO many of you said that you’d skip Magic Kingdom just to simply choose to go to EPCOT instead!

EPCOT

We didn’t see many comments in this same vein about Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, which just goes to show how much you all love EPCOT and all that it offers. And we can understand it! EPCOT has fantastic food, great rides, and is an overall beautiful park to walk around. If you have time for both though, that’s certainly what we recommend.

Solo Trip/A Trip With No Kids

Many of our readers also said that they would choose to skip Magic Kingdom if they were on a solo trip, or if they didn’t have kids with them.

Under The Sea

This is largely because the other parks have attractions that are more geared towards adults, whether that be the food or the entertainment. While it’s often amazing to watch your kids or the kids you’re traveling with experience Magic Kingdom, if you’re on your own, you may choose to spend your time elsewhere.
