As The Walt Disney Company celebrates 100 years of bringing magic to Disney fans worldwide, the Walt Disney World Resort commemorates the milestone with the splashing debut of Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana in EPCOT.
All guests can now explore the beautifully landscaped walking trail with fun surprises around every turn. Guests can engage with water in magical ways as Moana did with the ocean in the film – from a simple greeting to a high five or even a crashing wave of fun.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is the newest chapter in the multi-year expansion at EPCOT and showcases the innovation and creativity that Disney is known for.
In addition to experiencing this new attraction, guests now have the opportunity to meet Moana in a new area of World Nature. Just across from Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, this new meet and greet location is the perfect place for fans to snap a few photos, share in a hug, or even recount their important learnings about water conservation with the Wayfinder herself.
From the youngest little ones to the generations who are young at heart, every family member can enjoy this fun, lively, and interactive experience as they discover ways to befriend, protect, and cherish the water that connects and gives life to the world. Like Moana’s friend, the ocean, water here has a playful personality of its own, and guests can join in the fun by making music with “rain harps,” waving to jumping streams and creating a roaring ocean wave.
As guests walk along the trail, they will come across Te Fiti, who is seen protecting water as it travels through the water cycle. Guests might even discover beloved characters carved in rock formations like Heihei, Pua, and of course, Moana.
If you aren’t able to visit EPCOT to see the new attraction in person, Disney Parks has shared a video recorded in binaural audio capturing the sights and sounds of the experience.
