There’s a NEW ride coming to Magic Kingdom, and we’re watching the construction progress like a HAWK. (Insert gesture of two fingers pointing at our eyes then turning to point at the ride here. )
When Splash Mountain closed to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we expected there would be some swift changes in the scenery, but quite a bit has been altered since the construction started earlier this year! We’ve been able to keep tabs on the queue area to see how it’s progressing, and now we’ve got an update to share.
On a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we noticed a CHANGE in the construction site for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! We’ve been watching the construction crews working here for a while, but now we’ve spotted one of the first signs of The Princess and the Frog (besides the giant water tower that was installed, of course).
On the side of the main queue building, construction workers have started outlining a mural, and it features one of our favorite characters! Is that Louis we see?! He looks like he’s playing some snazzy jazz music.
We’ve got a NEW update from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! It looks like we’re getting a new mural alongside the queue wall (facing the Walt Disney World Railroad)!

We’ve seen murals on other sides of the building being painted as well. It looks like there’s going to be a lot of whimsical artwork in this queue!
Also in the queue, workers look like they’re getting ready to pour some concrete for the walkways. We’ve seen them rearranging and rebuilding the queue area for months so this is an exciting step as well.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more updates about what’s happening with this ride, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest! We’ll be interested to check out Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it’s completed next year.
