NEW Concept Art Shows a Parking CHANGE Coming to Disneyland

Disneyland has some big things happening in the future!

Disneyland Resort

If you’ve been following Disneyland Resort news for the past few years, then you may have heard about the proposed expansion to the parks. In 2021, Disney proposed a project called DisneylandForward, which would allow the resort to fill in some unused space on the property to add more attractions and offerings to the theme parks. Progress on getting this plan approved has been slow, but now we have an update.

On October 9th, there was a DisneylandForward-centered meeting in Anaheim. During the meeting, a “FactSheet” was handed out to attendees and it contained some concept art. The artwork featured a NEW parking structure that could potentially be built near Disneyland Resort. This structure would be located east of Harbor Boulevard. Of course, concepts can change as projects develop, so the final product may not end up looking like this.

If the DisneylandForward project gets approved, new additions will be constructed in the areas of the resort that Disney considers “underdeveloped.” This would include space surrounding some of the Disneyland Resort hotels west of the parks and a parking lot on the east side.

In order for guests to access this space easily, new walkways or methods of transportation may need to be built. The study says the following: “In order to facilitate development of new attractions west of Disneyland Drive, up to two additional pedestrian bridges or crossings may be constructed over Disneyland Drive and will serve as a continuation of the themed environment across the roadway, similar to the existing Downtown Disney crossing, with no access to and from the public right-of-way.”
