Back in August, new reusable shopping bags made their debut at Walt Disney World Resort, featuring an updated style that is shared with the Disneyland Resort. While visiting the parks today, we spotted a new, large-sized option that’s now available for purchase.
We found it in Creations Shop at EPCOT. Other sizes of the reusable shopping bags were also available.
Large Reusable Shopping Bag – $2.50
Like its smaller counterparts, this bag includes a graphic of Cinderella Castle with a Mickey head silhouette on one side.
Tinker Bell flies overhead as fireworks and white sparkles dot the sky above the castle. The Walt Disney World logo is printed toward the bottom of the bag.
The Disneyland side of the bag includes a similar graphic, though with Sleeping Beauty Castle instead. The Disneyland Resort logo is printed below the castle.
Both sides of the bag feature the Disney Parks logo printed in white, with small sparkles all around it.
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Reusable Bags
Prior to this update, merchandise locations throughout Walt Disney World had special 50th anniversary bags available for purchase.
This bag was navy with iridescent details and Mickey and Minnie in their anniversary outfits, standing in front of a decorated Cinderella Castle.
The bags also came in three sizes: small, medium, and large.
Each bag had its own 50th anniversary art, keeping in theme with the navy and iridescent colors.
Walt Disney World and Disneyland Park-Specific Reusable Bags
Before the 50th anniversary reusable bags made their debut, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland had park-specific bags available for purchase.
Even Disney Springs and World of Disney had their own designs.
Each bag had the corresponding park’s icon on one side, and four icons that represented the resort or park on the opposite side.
Each park or resort’s bag was available in small, medium, and large sizes.
The bags also had their own color schemes.
The bags were made from 80 percent recycled materials and were a part of Disney’s overall steps toward becoming more environmentally friendly.
However, plastic bags are still used at the parks.
This update marks a big change for these designs, which were only just implemented in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is possible this could be a way to reduce waste by making multiple bag designs for each and every Disney park.
Have you purchased any of the new reusable shopping bags? Will you be picking up this larger option the next time you visit the parks? Let us know in the comments.
