Merry Sithmas in October! We may still be celebrating Halloween, but festive “Star Wars” merchandise has already arrived at Disneyland Resort for the holiday season.
We found a new youth tee, stocking droid figure, and pet shirt at World of Disney in Downtown Disney District.
R8-H23 Figure – $14.99
R8-H23 is the newest astromech straight out of the Droid Factory. He’s red with white and green detailing, and a green wreath around his dome.
The wreath is decorated with a large gold bow.
Sithmas Youth T-Shirt – $26.99
This white youth tee depicts Darth Vader celebrating “Sithmas” with Luke and Leia. A Christmas tree in the background is weighed down by a Death Star ornament, and there are presents gathered at its foot. Luke is using the Force to float a present to Leia.
The back of inspired by the opening crawls of “Star Wars” films, but in a hand-written font style. It reads:
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….
Episode Twelve
DAYS OF SITHMASIt is a time of joy for the galaxy. Young Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia look to restore holiday spirit in their father, Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith….
This youth T-shirt, plus the stocking and pet flannel below are a part of the new “Star Wars” Vintage Holiday Collection that recently debuted across Disney Parks and on shopDisney. The line features artwork from “Star Wars: A Vader Family Sithmas,” a 2021 children’s book written by Jeffrey Brown.
Vader & Luke Stocking – $34.99
Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are pictured in front of their Christmas tree on this stocking. Luke says, “I know there’s good in you, father!” Vader responds, “It’s too late for me, son. I’m on the Naughty List.”
The stocking is solid red, with red and black plaid at the top and toes.
Pet Shirt – $29.99
Dogs and cats can dress up for Sithmas too with this flannel pet shirt. It’s the same red and black flannel pattern that’s on the stocking.
Under the collar, there’s an opening for a leash to go through. On the back is the same image of Vader, Leia, and Luke from the T-shirt.
These items go with the new “Star Wars” holiday ear headband we picked up earlier this week, alongside a Princess Leia ear headband. The next Disney100 Decades collection will also include a “Star Wars” Loungefly backpack. Later in the season, we can expect Life Day merchandise, inspired by the canonical winter holiday in the “Star Wars” universe. Marvel Comics will have Life Day variant comic covers on some of their “Star Wars” issues in November.
Winter Holidays at Disneyland Resort
The holiday season officially begins at Disneyland Resort on November 10, 2023 and lasts through January 7, 2024.

In Paradise Gardens Park, Disney ¡Viva Navidad! will celebrate Christmas and Three Kings Day with special entertainment, appearances by Mirabel from “Encanto,” and authentic Mexican cuisine.
Radiator Springs decorates for the holidays, with Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becoming Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Rollicin’ Roadsters becoming Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl.
Enjoy A Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland Park featuring Mickey & Friends, “Frozen” characters, Disney Princesses, and Santa Claus. “it’s a small world” will be decked out with its holiday overlay, while Haunted Mansion Holiday will remain.
At night, guests will be able to view the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks at Disneyland and “World of Color – Season of Light” at Disney California Adventure.
Future of Star Wars
Several “Star Wars” projects are currently in development. James Mangold (“Logan,” “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”) will be directing a film set before the Old Republic about the origins of the Force. Dave Filoni is set to direct a film that takes place between “The Mandalorian” and “The Force Awakens.” Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct a sequel taking place 15 years after “The Rise of Skywalker,” the last “Star Wars” film released in theaters.
“Star Wars” has also seen success with recent live-action shows on Disney+, starting with “The Mandalorian.” There have been two seasons of the show, followed by the spin-offs “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Ahsoka,” all set between “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
“Andor” season 1, set before “Star Wars: A New Hope” and focused on “Rogue One” character Cassian Andor, premiered in late 2022. Season 2 began filming in November, but filming paused due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes this summer.
