NEWS: Technical Problems Are Plaguing Subscribers After Price Increases Hit Disney+

Disney is not exempt from technology glitches from time to time.

We’ve seen the My Disney Experience have problems, Genie+ malfunction, and more across Disney’s apps and services over the years. Now, it appears fans are having a bit of trouble with the Disney+ app this morning. Since price increases have hit the platform today, there could be more traffic than usual on the app, causing a bit of trouble. If you do experience an error code, here’s what to do.

Error Code 1026

If you attempt to launch the Disney+ app on your smart TV and see the following message, there are a few things you can try.

To troubleshoot:

  • Turn off your smart TV; turn it back on and then try relaunching the Disney+ app
  • Check your internet connection
  • If you are having trouble logging in to Disney+, head to the “Login issues” page on the Disney+ website
  • Try deleting and reinstalling the Disney+ app for your smart TV

Error Code 42

Alternatively, if you try to launch the Disney+ app and get the following message, it could be due to an internet or network issue. You may be experiencing an unstable or slow internet connection or a weak Wi-Fi signal.

To troubleshoot:

  1. Make sure you are on a supported device or accessing DisneyPlus.com on a computer with a supported configuration
  2. Check your internet connection* and Wi-Fi signal
  3. Power cycle (power down and restart) your router and modem
  4. Relaunch the Disney+ app or refresh the site and try playing the video again in a few minutes

Error Code 83

Lastly, you might experience the following message when attempting to play a video:

This is usually due to a compatibility issue or connection error. You might be trying to watch the video on an unsupported device or could have a slow internet connection. To troubleshoot:

  • Launch the Disney+ app on a supported device or access DisneyPlus.com on a computer with a supported configuration
  • Check your internet connection
  • Relaunch the Disney+ app or refresh the site and try playing the video again in a few minutes
  • Power down or restart your device, and then try relaunching the Disney+ app
  • If you are having trouble logging in to Disney+, head to the “Login issues” page on the Disney+ website
