As work continues on World Celebration in EPCOT, a wooden box was spotted by bioreconstruct on X that could potentially hold the “Walt the Dreamer” statue ahead of its installation.
Walt the Dreamer Statue Reportedly Arrives
bioreconstruct shared this image earlier in the afternoon on Saturday, October 14, 2023, offering up a view of the current work in World Celebration from the Monorail.
At the center of the frame, a large wooden box has been staged atop this concrete area. Eventually, the Walt the Dreamer statue will be installed on a set of steps in this area, dubbed Dreamer’s Point, allowing him to look out over EPCOT as guests enjoy their day.
It is possible that the Walt Disney statue could be inside, waiting for installation. If the statue is already here, it is likely only a matter of time before it’s put in place.
Walt the Dreamer Statue
Many Disney Parks around the world feature statues of Walt Disney, but this one will be unique because he’s not accompanied by Mickey Mouse.
The statue was previously on display at D23 Expo 2022. Most recently, new merchandise commemorating the statue was made available online and at Creations Shop in EPCOT.
World Celebration is projected to be complete and will open to guests in December 2023.
Are you excited to see the Walt Disney statue finally be installed in EPCOT? Were you able to see it in person at D23 Expo 2022? Let us know in the comments.
