Crews have begun adding colorful reflective tiles to the new Universal Orlando Resort hotels under construction south of Epic Universe. Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct shared photos of the two towers on X.
New Universal Orlando Resort Hotels
A good portion of one of the towers is now covered in the reflective tiling. The tiles are blue, green, purple, red, orange, and yellow. They’ve been placed in ombré patterns.
The hotels have rounded windows and corners. The windows at this corner were covered in scrim.
In this close-up photo of a window:
- The border of the window is not complete and window glass hasn’t been installed.
- Dark reflections of something nearby.
- Wiring for a possible sparkle effect at night.
More of that wiring is visible in the other close-up photos.
Closer to the ground, see-through scrims now cover the steel framework around the first few floors of the hotel, which we saw in our last Epic Universe construction update.
There are no reflective tiles on the other tower yet, but the top of this structure was only recently completed.
Work lights shine through the windows.
For an idea of how close these hotels are to Epic Universe. bioreconstruct shared these photos. Above is a photo looking through the lobby of one of the towers at the in-park hotel of Epic Universe.
This photo offers another look at the in-park hotel in the background and the tiled building in the foreground.
Epic Universe is set to have four IP lands: Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe (inspired by Universal Classic Monsters), the Isle of Berk (inspired by “How to Train Your Dragon”), and a new The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. the central corridor will be Celestial Park.
Stay tuned for another Epic Universe construction update.
