The overhaul of Studio 1 in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris has begun. We visited the park earlier this month and saw that construction walls had gone up outside of the exit.
Studio 1 Overhaul Begins
Construction walls have gone up outside the exit to Studio 1, with crews starting outside first. This marks the start of Phase 0 in the update plans, which was originally slated to begin in November 2023.
Work will reportedly continue here through April 2024.
After that, work on the interior of Studio 1 will begin. It will close for a year starting on April 5, 2024, and reopen on April 25, 2025.
Studio 1 is a building that acts as the park’s “Main Street.” Disneyland Paris filed a permit in March for construction at the enclosed indoor space.
Inside the entrance area and its surrounding Theater District is Restaurant en Coulisse, which is currently themed to a backstage catered meal area on a movie set. With this overhaul, the theming will be updated to instead take guests to a movie premiere garden party.
The entrance into the park through Studio 1 will also get an update in the form of a new awning and a look that resembles a cinema.
Here you can see that the Toon Studio sign is behind the tan construction walls.
The Monsters, Inc. scream monitors are still open to guests.
The Partners Statue is also behind construction walls, along with various planters and walkways.
Work on this entire area is scheduled to be completed in May 2025, alongside the rest of the park’s currently announced updates and expansions, which includes the “Frozen”-inspired Kingdom of Arendelle.
