Poop Candy and 3 Other Snacks That Can No Longer Be Sold in Disney World

We’ve probably eaten THOUSANDS of snacks in Disney World.

Mmmm…ice cream

Nope, we’re not exaggerating! We’ve been reviewing Disney food for 15+ years, and that means we’ve tried quite a lot of it. With all those years of food reviews, we’ve seen snacks come and go frequently. Today, we’re sharing a list of the snacks that Disney World had to stop selling!

Animal Poop

First up, we’re heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where Disney World used to sell candy that was made to look like animal scat! Nope, we’re not kidding — you could get “poop candy” at Zuri’s Sweets Shop years ago. There were edible versions of Elephant, Giraffe, Cotton Top Tamarin, and Hippo poop to sample.

It might be easy to guess why Disney stopped selling this “treat” — it doesn’t exactly appeal to the masses! Even though you could ask to see the ingredients list for these treats, it was still pretty difficult to get past the visual. Alas, there is no more poop candy in Disney World!

50th Anniversary Treats

The 50th Anniversary celebrations kicked off in Disney World in October 2021 with over 100 (!!) new snacks around the parks. We were there that day, and it took an entire team of reporters to try them all. We left that experience with blue-dyed hands and enough cupcakes in our bellies to last YEARS.

The celebrations ended up lasting 18 months in total, so these snacks were around for quite some time. But once the party ended, many of them disappeared from menus around the parks. However, some of the more popular items actually got to stay and were just transformed into non-50th versions.

The Original Carrot Cake Cookie

Do you guys remember Writer’s Stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? This old cafe was a favorite of ours with delicious coffee and baked goods, but it closed permanently in 2016. One thing we lament the loss of was our beloved Carrot Cake Cookie!

And you may say, “Wait, I thought you could still get the Carrot Cake Cookie in Hollywood Studios?” Well, you can…in a way. There’s a new version at Trolley Car Cafe, but it’s not the same as the original one that we knew and loved.

McDonald’s French Fries

Finally, we’ve got to talk about the McDonald’s partnership! Years ago, McDonald’s had a partnership with Disney World where they could sell their food in the parks, including their ridiculously popular french fries. Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom was home to several menu items from the fast food chain, and the company even sponsored the DINOSAUR ride.

Their partnership ended in 2006, and Disney switched to working with McDonald’s on a case-by-case basis. Even though you can no longer get McDonald’s in the parks, you can still visit the one McDonald’s location on Disney World property — right next to the All-Star Resorts.
