With aftermarket resale of Lorcana product at least double the MSRP (for example, this Gift Set with an MSRP of $29.99 priced over $60 at the time of publication on TCGPlayer.com), Ravensburger has announced adjustments to their North American Lorcana reprinting timeline. Ryan Miller, Senior Brand Manager andDisney Lorcana TCG co-designer at Ravensberger, has also stated that his focus is making sure that Lorcana product is available for people to play.
Lorcana Reprints to Address Product Scarcity
As more identical product comes onto the market, the Ravensburger team is hoping Lorcana reprints will bring prices down and provide cards to people to play the game. Miller also confirmed this in another interview, indicating that starter decks will be reprinted as well:
“We cannot discuss quantities, but our goal has always been to get as much product into the hands of fans as possible, and we are continuing to work with our suppliers to increase production to better meet demand as quickly as possible. I can confirm that the reprint will include both starter decks and booster packs.”

With the small-market-priority as their announced approach since the beginning, Ravensbuger is prioritizing getting more product available at the retail value to fans and players instead of collectors and resellers.
“While we can’t discuss the allocation split, supporting Independent Hobby retailers with Disney Lorcana TCG continues to be our #1 priority,” Miller said.
Lorcana Reprints Will Impact Aftermarket Resale Values
In several social media formats, Ravensburger has confirmed that each of the reprints of cards will have no indicator that they are a reprint, and no differences from the first wave of cards that was already released. The Lorcana reprints are expected to be identical to the cards that have already been printed. Facebook user Karl Monson recently shared this screenshot on the Lorcana TCG Facebook group:
“Our goal is for fans to be able to purchase and enjoy the Disney Lorcana TCG product at the suggested retail price,” a spokesperson for Ravensburger said to i09, “and we will continue to take steps to ensure a level of availability and quality that keeps the market healthy for both collectors and players.”
Flooding the market with more cards with two Lorcana reprints already announced does not benefit collectors.
The emphasis for collectors, however, is clearly not intended to be all Lorcana product, but rather more limited items, such as the Disney Lorcana Disney100 Edition featuring cards signed by Disney animators. The Lorcana reprints should continue to decrease the aftermarket value of most cards.
While some aftermarket values are high due to scarcity, some of this high value is due to playability coupled with that scarcity. Higher rarity cards especially that are common in popular playsets are sought by both players and collectors. Some of these cards, such as Rapunzel: Gifted with Healing, are currently individually valued over $50 on TCGPlayer.com.
Ravensburger’s North America Lorcana reprint timeline adjustment will also potentially provide opportunities to purchase Lorcana at or near its manufacturer’s suggested retail price prior to the winter holiday season; with one wave of product due in October and another in December for the first chapter, as well as the first printing and an additional wave of Chapter Two due in December.
