To go with a new Disney Munchlings Heimlich plush, two new Heimlich-inspired treats are available at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs.
Heimlich is the green and blue caterpillar from “A Bug’s Life.”
The two new treats were created by Chef Amanda Lauder.
The Heimlich Chocolate Piñata comes with a wooden hammer to break it open.
There’s always a Heimlich Black Forest Pastry.
The treats will only be available today, October 9, and potentially tomorrow, October 10, if there are any left.
Heimlich Munchlings Chocolate Piñata – $28
Chocolate piñata with candy corn crackle
The chocolate shell and crispy pearls are nothing fancy. They are standard for Ganachery and Amorette’s piñatas.
The large candy corn chocolate pieces are infused with an orange flavor that is fabulous. You can feel the chocolate but taste the orange.
This is one of our favorite chocolate piñatas now, thanks to the chocolate-orange combination.
That said, if you don’t like orange flavoring with your chocolate, you probably won’t like this.
The small candy corn pieces are just your standard sugary candy.
Heimlich Munchlings Black Forest Pastry – $10
Vanilla bean mousse and dark chocolate mousse with cherries on a chocolate sable cookie
While the piñata and plush just look like Heimlich’s head, this pastry recreates his whole caterpillar body.
The green exterior is white chocolate. Heimlich’s feet are simple red M&Ms.
The white part inside is the vanilla bean mousse, which was delicious. There’s a cherry filling, which is good if you like cherry, but a con if you don’t.
The chocolate cookie on the bottom was not sweet at all. It had a cocoa powder taste.
If you like Black Forest cake, you’ll like this. If not, skip it and maybe opt for the piñata instead.
