REVIEW: Plant-based Italian Sausage and Antipasto Salad at Pizzafari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

New menu items have been added at Pizzafari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom alongside the vast array of new items that debuted yesterday, October 11, and we were at the park to try them all.

Plant-based Italian Sausage – $10.79

With the Italian sausage, you can’t even tell the difference from it being a regular meat sausage versus a plant-based option. It has a nice crunch to it, and a prevalent kick of spice that stays in your mouth as you continue eating the entrée.

On top of the sausage is a decent amount of relish and peppers that balance out the spice with sweetness. The bun the sausage is served in is light, airy, and soft.

As for the side salad, it’s what you would expect to get anywhere on Disney property. There is a fair amount of lettuce, and ours was crispy and refreshing alongside the sweetness of the sliced cherry tomatoes. You have the option of choosing Italian, Caesar, or Ranch dressings to pair with the salad.

This pair as an entrée is a very light meal, and great for eating on the go while avoiding feeling too heavy afterwards.

Antipasto Salad – $4.79

The Antipasto Salad was divisive among our group, as we were split down the middle with those who liked it and those who did not.

This salad contains hidden salami among the artichoke, olives, tomato, and cucumber. The dressing is a vinaigrette, which gives it a sour tang, but it’s not too sour. For those in our group who did like this Pizzafari side salad, it was a refreshing, good side salad to have in the Florida heat.
