Marvel Studios will re-release “Werewolf by Night” in color on Disney+ next week. The “Special Presentation” debuted last Halloween season.
“Werewolf by Night” was originally in black and white, being inspired by classic horror films of the 1930s and ’40s. It will be available in color beginning on October 20, 2023. Watch the new trailer below.
“Werewolf by Night” is directed by Michael Giacchino from a teleplay by Heather Quinn and Peter Cameron. It stars Gael García Bernal as Jack Russell, Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, and Harriet Sansom Harris as Verussa Bloodstone.
After the special’s premiere, “Director by Night,” a documentary about Giacchino’s direction, was released.
Marvel has indicated they want to dig into the darker side of the MCU with more projects like “Werewolf by Night.” No characters from the special have appeared in the MCU again and Marvel hasn’t announced a “Werewolf by Night” follow-up, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said it introduced “a world that will ultimately become quite important to the future of the MCU.” (via Collider)

MCU Future
“Loki” season 2 is currently airing on Disney+. Read our reviews of episode 1 and episode 2.
“The Marvels” is the next MCU film coming to theaters, on November 10, 2023. It will be followed by “Deadpool 3” on May 3, 2024; “Captain America: Brave New World” on July 26, 2024; “Thunderbolts” on December 20, 2024; and “Blade” concluding Phase Five on February 14, 2025.
Films planned for Phase Six include “Fantastic Four” on May 2, 2025; “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” on May 1, 2026; and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7, 2027.
“Armor Wars,” a “Shang-Chi” sequel, an X-Men film, and another “Spider-Man” film are also reportedly in development but don’t have release dates. Another “Thor” film is also rumored to be in development.
Several movie release dates were changed at the beginning of the WGA strike and could potentially be changed again as the SAG-AFTRA strike continues.
As for Disney+ television series, “What If…?” season 2 is set to air later this year, “Echo” is scheduled to premiere in early 2024, followed by “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.” The release timeframes for these shows were also shifted. “Ironheart” and “Daredevil: Born Again” are also coming soon — with filming of the latter paused due to the strikes.
The future of the ongoing Multiverse Saga is also in question given Jonathan Majors’ arrest and ongoing trial for alleged assault. Majors portrays Kang the Conquerer, the main villain of the Multiverse Saga, and his variants. Majors was dropped by his management company and PR firm, as well as other campaigns and projects, but Marvel and Disney have yet to announce any decisions about his role in the MCU. He appears in “Loki” season 2, which had completed filming before his arrest.
