TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom will utilize a standby queue during 2024 offerings of Disney After Hours, marking the first time that the recently-opened attraction will use such a queue structure. Disney announced the impending return of the Disney After Hours separately ticketed events on the morning of October 24.
TRON Lightcycle Run Using Standby Line for Disney After Hours
TRON Lightcycle Run has only been accessible through a virtual queue or the purchase of an individual Lightning Lane pass since its grand opening in April 2023.
Disney After Hours events are separately ticketed offerings that will run on select nights at Magic Kingdom from January 11 through April 8, 2024, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. One of the primary benefits that Disney advertises for Disney After Hours offerings is “lower wait times for attractions;” thus, a standby queue for TRON Lightcycle Run during these events makes sense.
Disney After Hours ticket prices at Magic Kingdom range from $155 to $175 (not including tax). Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members have access to specially priced tickets. The “Disney Enchantment” nighttime spectacular will return to Magic Kingdom exclusively during next year’s Disney After Hours events.
TRON Lightcycle Run
TRON Lightcycle Run is a new high-speed roller coaster experience in the Tomorrowland area of Magic Kingdom with sudden acceleration, sharp turns, drops, and a style of seating and restraints reminiscent of a motorcycle or bicycle. It is a replica of the original version that debuted at Shanghai Disneyland as an opening day attraction in 2016.
The queue, canopy area, and attraction itself all take inspiration from the 1982 film “TRON” and its 2010 sequel, “TRON Legacy.” The queue’s light-up circuit-inspired walls were recently made solid black, though we were told by Cast Members that the lights will ultimately return.
