The Star Wars: Galactic Starcusier embarked on its final voyage in late September, closing the book on what was one of Walt Disney Imagineering’s most ambitious projects in recent memory. The multi-day experience temporarily allowed guests to inhabit and interact with the “Star Wars” galaxy but, despite critical and fan acclaim, quickly saw its demand dwindle after its March 2022 opening for a litany of reasons.
Though few were able to voyage across the galaxy aboard the Halcyon throughout its 18 months of operation, the experience made an impact on those who were able to partake, prompting many to be upset at its closure. Grief has led to art, in one case, as a fan has constructed the atrium of the Halcyon out of LEGO Bricks in commemoration of the experience.

Instagram user “__tm31__” recently shared a video of their custom Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser LEGO build on Instagram. Though bricks and minifigures released as parts of other “Star Wars” and general LEGO sets were used, the build itself is custom, meaning that __tm31__ used an amalgamation of pieces from other sets and built the diorama without instructions.
The build depicts the atrium of the Halycon and contains several characters from the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience. Original characters like Raithe Kole, the Saja, and SK-620 appear alongside Chewbacca, Rey, and Kylo Ren, characters from the “Star Wars” films who also appeared on the Halycon. The finale of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience is unfolding on the upper deck of the atrium, as Rey and Kylo Ren are engaged in a lightsaber duel.
__tm31__ first shared a look at their custom build on August 13, also posting a sentimental tribute to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in which he expressed love for the Cast Members who made the experience possible
With the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser closing in September, I wanted to do a large scale build of it as a send off, so here is my diorama of (half) the atrium, where a majority of the story takes place.
The cast is obviously what made the experience and I made as many of the key characters as I could…though some are easier to make than others (sorry Gaya, Captain Keevan, Lenka, and Ouannii

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro conceded in a June 2023 interview that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcrusier “didn’t work commercially” (cabins for the three-day, two-night experience started at $5,000), but also stated that “something will happen” with the experience. No announcements have been made since D’Amaro’s comments.
