What’s the Best Story From the Last 100 Years of Disney?

Earlier this week, Disney finally celebrated the highly-anticipated 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. The lead-up to this event had been ten months of celebration and an entire century in the making. Watching the festivities unfold, I started to think about how this company has touched so many people around the globe. It’s not just the vacation time we spend in the theme parks; though that might be the most coveted, it’s only a tiny part of the magic we share in the name of Disney.

The family time (biological or chosen) that we spend enjoying Disney entertainment is so neatly woven into the fabric of who we are that we bond in its presence from the very beginning. A parent reads classic Disney tales to their baby to calm them into sleep. Youngsters learning preschool lessons from Disney Junior with their siblings. Families with tweens enjoy adventurous movies that are carefully crafted to have something for everyone in them. Teens and young adults who grew up in the magic of Disney continue to create their own traditions as they mature. The thing that stands out to me in all of these scenarios, as a result of 100 years of Disney creation, is togetherness.

I love so many Disney stories, not only for what they are but for what they represent in my life and the people those cherished memories are shared with. I thought it might be nice to share some of our favorite stories from Disney to celebrate an incredible 100 years of storytelling magic. Let’s have your answers. In any form of media you like, what is your favorite Disney story, and what does it mean to you?
