11 Things We CAN’T WAIT to see in Disney World in 2024

It’s no secret that things are about to change a lot in Disney World in 2024.

EPCOT

We know that certain attractions are getting makeovers this coming year, and we have to admit that we’re nervous about some of them. However, there are tons of new additions we CANNOT WAIT to see, and we thought we’d do a quick recap to refresh your mind!

Completed EPCOT Transformation

EPCOT has been in the process of transforming for multiple years now, and we should finally see a complete transformation by the time 2024 hits.

Updated Construction (November 2023)

Disney’s current timeline has this process finishing in very late 2023, but we’re a little skeptical that it may dip over into 2024 a little bit. Regardless, we should see it finished well before 2024 is over.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Over in Magic Kingdom, we’re so excited for the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, happening sometime in 2024.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

We don’t have an opening timeline for this ride just yet, but we do know it’ll be in 2024. This ride will have the same ride system as Splash Mountain, which it’s taking the place of in Disney World and Disneyland.

No More Park Passes

A HUGE announcement for 2024 was that Park Passes will no longer be required for date-based tickets (which are the most common types of tickets Disney sells) starting on January 9th.

Scanning into the theme park

Most tickets are date-based, but a few exclusions include Annual Passholders, school trips, conventions, Cast Members, and a few other groups that do not have date-based tickets (essentially meaning your ticket does not have a date range when it can be used). In these cases, park passes are still needed.

All Day Park Hopping

Starting on January 9th as well, guests with park hopper tickets or Annual Passes will be able to park hop all day in the parks!

You could park hop to EPCOT via the Monorail quickly from Magic Kingdom

The only exception to this rule will be if the park you’re looking to hop to has already reached capacity.

Disney Dining Plan

January 9th is a HUGE day because this is also the date the Disney Dining Plan finally returns to Disney World.

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way for families to plan ahead of time what they’d like to spend on food for their whole trip, but we will warn you that it costs more than most families actually spend on dining while they’re in the parks. However, for families who just want to have the cost and planning already taken care of, it’s a great feature.

Genie+ Change

Genie+ changes very consistently, and it can be hard to keep up with (that’s what we’re here for). A massive change that many guests have been asking for is being added in 2024.

Genie+

This new change, on its way sometime in 2024, will allow guests to plan some of their Genie+ selections ahead of time before they even enter the park, similar to how FastPass+ did. Disney hasn’t released many other details just yet, but we are excited about this change!

New DVC Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort

If you’re a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member, you’re likely just as excited as we are about the new DVC Tower coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

DVC construction is ongoing

This new tower replaced the previous location of the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, and is expected to open sometime in 2024. Remember, even if you’re not a DVC member, you can always rent points from DVC members and use them towards a stay.

Cake Bake Shop

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is coming to Disney’s BoardWalk in 2024, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Construction

This new restaurant will serve sweet and savory menu items for brunch, lunch, and dinner, as well as afternoon tea service. There will also be a bakery case where you can grab items to go!

New Cabins at Fort Wilderness

Over at Fort Wilderness Resort, new cabins will be debuting in 2024 as well!

These 350 new cabins will be upgrades from the current offerings, and will also be part of the Disney Vacation Club offerings, but they will be open for all guests to book. They’ll sleep up to 6 adults and include a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio.

The New Country Bear Jamboree

An iconic Magic Kingdom attraction is also getting a bit of an overhaul — Country Bear Jamboree will be getting a makeover in 2024.

The bears will be learning a new act that is inspired by variety shows down in Nashville, Tennessee, and while they’ll be singing all their old songs, they’ll be in new styles such as country, rockabilly, and bluegrass.

Good To Go Days

And lastly, we’re really looking forward to experiencing the new Good To Go days for Cast Members and Annual Passholders.

We love Cast Members!

Good to Go days are when Cast Members and Annual Passholders will be able to enter Disney parks without the need for a park pass reservation. While we don’t have a specific date for when these will begin, we do know they’ll begin in January 2024!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

See what we mean? There is SO much to look forward to in 2024, and we can’t wait to experience it all with you. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!
