BREAKING: Opening DATE Announced for NEW Area of EPCOT!

We are nearing the end of the EPCOT transformation!

EPCOT

Disney announced the EPCOT transformation will be complete in December of this year. The new show, Luminous The Symphony of Us, is set to debut on December 5th and now Disney has just announced the date of another large milestone!

The Walt the Dreamer statue is officially set to open to guests in EPCOT on December 5th, 2023–in celebration of Walt’s birthday. The statue features Walt sitting, “dreaming up the overall Florida Project and the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, EPCOT.”

“Walt the Dreamer”

Walt will sit in the new World Celebration Gardens, at Dreamer’s Point, overlooking all that he dreamed up as it sits today. Four gardens will be found in the center of World Celebration, including Dreamer’s Point, and will connect together at a central planter that is based on the EPCOT logo. The area will evolve with the seasons and include lighting elements that will “take on a whole new life” at night.

Walt Statue in World Celebration

According to Disney, “Dreamers Point is named not only for the dreamer that has and continues to inspire us but also for all of us who visit EPCOT every day to celebrate the endless potential and possibility of our world.” We can’t wait to visit this special place on the very special day commemorating Walt’s birthday.

Until then, keep following DFB for more Disney news!
