Disney Cruise Line’s float for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will receive a retooling ahead of the event, with details to make it representative of Disney’s newest and upcoming ship, the Disney Treasure.
Disney Cruise Line’s Float
Three years ago, Disney Cruise Line revealed their new parade float to celebrate the then-upcoming Disney Wish ship. Now the Disney Wish has completed its first year with the company, and Disney is looking to draw more attention to the upcoming Disney Treasure, which will make its inaugural sailings in December 2025. According to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade website, the “Magic Meets the Sea” float will be modeled after the Disney Treasure.
In practice, Disney Cruise Line’s float only has a few details to change to make it into the Disney Treasure: namely, the logo on the side of the ship. The accompanying image on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade website shows Disney Cruise Line’s float with Disney Wish on the side, as it has appeared in the parade for the past two years and in the image above.
The video below shows the making of Disney Cruise Line’s float and its first year sailing up the streets of New York City.
Be sure to gather your friends and family and tune in to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC-TV on Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon in all time zones.
Disney Treasure
The adventure-themed Disney Treasure is inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration.
The three family dining locations aboard the Disney Treasure will be Plaza de Coco, 1923, and Worlds of Marvel (with a new show). It will include “Jungle Cruise” and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”-inspired lounges. Staterooms will feature artwork from “Aladdin,” “Encanto,” “Up,” and more. An EPCOT-themed Tomorrow Tower Suite will be in the forward funnel.
The Disney Treasure’s Grand Hall (atrium) will have a blue and gold color scheme. The golden atrium statue will feature Aladdin and Jasmine riding the Magic Carpet.
Peter Pan and Captain Hook will be the larger-than-life character figures on the stern of the Disney Treasure.
Captain Minnie debuted a new “Voyager” outfit for the Disney Treasure. Voyager Minnie is featured on the keel coin, which was laid in March. Voyager Minnie will also be on the Disney Treasure’s bow.
The AquaMouse will have a new story, “Curse of the Golden Egg.” Disney Cruise Line also announced the themes of the Oceaneer Club rooms.
