The stage for The Disneyland Candlelight Processional is being set in front of the Disneyland Railroad Main Street Station. This year’s event will take place on December 2 and 3, 2023.
Candlelight Processional at Disneyland Park
The weekend-long event is a long-time holiday tradition for Disneyland. The stage, which we spotted being set up on November 27, will be home to a 45-minute retelling of “The First Christmas.”
Unlike the EPCOT Candlelight Precessional at Walt Disney World, which features a long list of celebrity narrators, the Disneyland Candlelight Processional features just one. Each year, the celebrity narrator remains a mystery until the first night of the show. Last year’s narrator was Viola Davis.
The stage appears to only be missing its decorations for the limited-capacity event. First begun in 1958 by Walt Disney as a holiday thank you to the Disneyland community, the Disneyland Candlelight Processional is historically performed twice per day, though performance times have not yet been announced.
The faux stained glass doors have returned for this year’s event.
Speakers flank the stage. The musical performances can be heard throughout Main Street, U.S.A.
Additional elements for the show are currently being covered directly across from the stage.
