The new Walt the Dreamer statue at EPCOT is now visible from the Walt Disney World Monorail after Disney revealed the statue in its final location on Tuesday. In our last construction update, the statue was still within a crate.
Walt the Dreamer in World Celebration
The statue is on a bench behind Spaceship Earth, at what is called “Dreamers Point.” The space will finally open to guests on Walt’s birthday, December 5.
Dreamers Point is part of the new World Celebration Gardens in the center of EPCOT.
Though the statue itself looks approximately the same as the original concept art released, its backdrop looks very different.
The statue was previously on display at D23 Expo 2022. New merchandise commemorating the statue was released online and at Creations Shop in EPCOT this summer.
Though Disney originally announced that World Celebration as a whole would open in December, their latest announcement did not include mention of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza, located on the other side of the gardens from Creations Shop.
Construction of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza has also been visible from the Monorail and it’s clear they won’t be ready in the next week, and likely not by the end of December 2023.
CommuniCore Hall replaces the festival pavilion originally planned for the area and is named after the precursor to Innoventions.
CommuniCore Hall will include a permanent Mickey & Friends meet and greet space, a demonstration kitchen, and a gallery space.
Live music will be performed in CommuniCore Plaza.
