REVIEW: Disney, We’re BEGGING You to Make This Cheesy Bread a Permanent Menu Item

So if you had to ask us which is better: Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, our answer might surprise you.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland

Now, granted, we’re totally only thinking about food when comparing the two because that’s what we LIVE for. Although both lands have the same counter service restaurants and snacks like the Ronto Wrap and Blue Milk, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the West Coast has MORE Star Wars treats — and we’ll be honest here, they usually ROCK. So yeah, those of us in Florida are a little jealous. Well, we just tried three one-day-only treats in Disneyland, and, yep, we’re still jealous.

We visited Disneyland for a very special event in Star Wars. November 17th marks Life Day, a traditional Wookiee holiday that celebrates family, joy, and harmony. In honor of Life Day, Disneyland released three snacks that were ONLY available for a short time. We were on hand to try all three.

Life Day Ornament

The first was at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. It’s a Kashyyyk Cake for $7.49, which is made with a Brownie Base, Raspberry Sauce, Tiramisu, and Dark Chocolate Mousse. Yep, pretty much ALL THE THINGS WE LOVE. It also looks SO cool. This was so CHOCOLATEY and rich. You could taste the sweetness of the dessert mixed with the tart raspberry throughout.

Kashyyyk Cake

Note that this is a dessert served chilled. The dark mousse also has a nice light texture with a decadent dark chocolate taste. Now, back to that raspberry — the raspberry filling was our favorite part. It was sweet but also tart and paired well with the dark chocolate. It was also sparkly…you know because this is space food. We did find the brownie base a little hard because it was chilled. But we hope Disneyland brings this back because we’d order it again.

SO decadent

We picked up the Cheesy Blue Orbs for $5.99 at Ronto Roasters. They’re served with blue Parmesan cheese powder. We’ll just tell you that we’re biased because these were warm and cheesy balls of bread, and you KNOW how we feel about cheesy bread. (We love it.)

Cheesy Blue Orbs

The bread was warm and soft with a fluffy texture inside. The main flavor we got reminded us of a buttery bread roll, but then you also get a hint of the cheese and salty flavor afterward. It’s ANOTHER win in the space food department. Yes, the blue powder makes it space food.

Cheese + bread = WIN

But y’all, there wasn’t just ONE cheesy bread snack — THERE WERE TWO! We think we just landed in space heaven. We also tried the Cheese Branch for $7.49 from Kat Saka’s Kettle. This is Croissant Dough mixed with Cream Cheese, Parmesan, and Cheddar and sprinkled with crushed red pepper. Yep, read that again — MORE CHEESY BREAD.

Cheese Branch

This cheesy bread was more like a pastry with a flaky croissant texture, so you get that buttery croissant flavor followed by the parmesan and cheddar. We didn’t really see or taste the cream cheese in this, but we did get a tiny kick from the red pepper, but it’s not spicy.

MO)RE cheesy bread? YES, PLEASE.

So we’re pretty happy with all three snacks, and we think Disney knows us too well because we are ALL ABOUT cheesy bread. Although these treats were just available for one day, the Life Day snacks do occasionally pop back up from time to time, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for these so we can eat all three again. So…um…Disney World…what did YOU do for Life Day?
