REVIEW: Disney’s New Birthday Cake Sundae Did NOT Let Us Down

We celebrated Mickey and Minnie’s 95th birthday!

Mickey and Minnie

There are a few neat ways to celebrate their birthdays in the parks including a hidden surprise in Disney World. But this year, over in Disney California Adventure, Disney was offering a festive Birthday Cake Sundae for the big day!

At Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream shop in Disney California Adventure, you can get a large sundae celebrating the main man and his 95th birthday– Mickey’s Birthday Cake Sundae.

Mickey’s Birthday Cake Sundae

You can have Mickey’s birthday cake and eat it, too (in sundae form)! This magical sundae is $10.79 and it features everything you would expect on a birthday cake– vanilla ice cream, strawberry topping, pound cake, buttercream icing, and yellow whipped cream.

This sounds amazing!

It’s loaded up with the best of a birthday cake and it’s very tasty. Eating this sundae is like eating your favorite cake without all the thickness and dryness. You get all the flavors from the buttercream, vanilla, and strawberry in the perfect amounts. It’s like the ultimate combination of cake and ice cream (and it keeps that cake nice and moist).

YUM!

The chocolate ears were a fun touch but didn’t really match the flavors that were going on inside the cup. There is nearly as much cake as there is ice cream, so that was great. It is very sweet, it is essentially birthday cake after all, so if that’s not what you’re into, then you may want to try something else. But for all the cake lovers out there, this is a really fun take on a typical birthday cake!

Look at those layers!

It was a fun way to transform just a typical cake into something a bit more for the big guy’s birthday! All we needed was a candle. Happy Birthday, Mickey and Minnie!
