REVIEW: We Spent 30 Precious Minutes In Line for These Treats at Jollywood Nights in Disney World…Was It Worth It?

It’s time for the NEW holiday party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Ollie the Gingerbread Man

Jollywood Nights is Disney World’s brand-new holiday party, and we’re trying out everything for the first time! We’re checking out the lively Holiday Fiesta En La Calle, going to the live holiday special over at Theater of the Stars, and (best of all) eating lots of exclusive treats. Let’s head over to Fairfax Fare to try FIVE special treats!

All I Want For Christmas Ugly Sweater

Fairfax Fare isn’t usually our go-to stop for eats at Hollywood Studios, but lots of these Jollywood Nights-exclusive treats sound festive and fun! Let’s try them out.

Menu

We’ve got to warn you that the line for Fairfax Fare was pretty long when we got there around 9PM. We waited a little over a half hour to order.

Another long line

First up, we got the Holiday Turkey Popover, which is made with roasted turkey and creamy mashed potatoes topped with gravy, cranberry chutney, and chives in a house-made popover. You can grab it for $6.29.

Holiday Turkey Popover

This was basically like all of Thanksgiving dinner in one little snack. The turkey was very tender and juicy, and the cranberry sauce was sweet and complemented it well.

However, the mashed potatoes made the whole thing pretty mushy, especially after it sat a while. We didn’t love that consistency.

Next, we tried the ‘Just the Sides’ Popover. This one is made with macaroni & cheese and savory collard greens with ham topped with cornbread crumbs in a house-made popover. Grab one for $5.49.

‘Just the Sides’ Popover

The mac & cheese is the same as the one you get over at Dockside Diner, and we love it! It’s creamy and delicious.

‘Just the Sides’ Popover

There’s a bit of a smokey taste to the greens, which we liked. All of it is served inside a bread roll, which was nice and flaky on the outside.

Time to start on dessert! The PB&J Doughnut is a glazed doughnut with creamy peanut butter and grape jelly dipped in dark chocolate topped with crushed house-made salt and vinegar chips. It costs $4.99.

PB&J Doughnut

This doughnut wasn’t our favorite. It wasn’t quite sweet enough, since there wasn’t enough glaze on the outside.

PB&J Doughnut

The peanut butter is sticky but smooth, and the jelly is pretty standard. The doughnut itself had a great texture — very soft — but we wished it had more glaze to make the whole thing sweeter.

We also tried out Kermit’s Frozen Banana Bliss, which is a non-alcoholic drink made with frozen banana and white chocolate with caramel swirls topped with matcha whipped cream and sprinkles. It costs $6.49.

Kermit’s Frozen Banana Bliss

This shake is served with funky green whipped cream on top, which is fun!

Cool!

There’s a pretty strong banana flavor, but it was a little bit weird. It almost tasted like matcha, with a really earthy flavor. We liked the caramel sauce mixed in!

Kermit’s Frozen Banana Bliss

We finished with the Mistletoe Martini! This is made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka and St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur mixed with cranberry juice and topped with fresh cranberries and mint leaves. Grab one for $9.

Mistletoe Martini

This was pretty much a spruced-up cranberry martini. It’s sweet but very dry, and the cranberry flavor is strong. The sprig of mint adds a little bit of flavor as well.
