After Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park was closed due to storms this weekend, it remains closed today and is scheduled to stay closed through Wednesday.
Blizzard Beach was closed on Saturday, December 16, and Sunday, December 17. It will remain closed through at least Wednesday, December 20. It’s currently scheduled to reopen on Thursday, December 21.
According to Weather.com, today’s high in Orlando is 66°. Tuesday’s high is only 60°, while Wednesday will be up to 68°. Temperatures are set to warm up into the 70s after that.
Blizzard Beach has had to close several times this season. It reopened on November 6 while Typhoon Lagoon closed for the winter. Blizzard Beach closed early on November 16. It was closed for all of Thanksgiving Day and the following day, November 24. More low temperatures caused the water park to be closed on Tuesday, November 28, and Wednesday, November 29. It closed again on December 6, December 7, and December 11. The park closed early, after just two hours of operation, on December 12.
It’s not unusual for water parks to close for cold temperatures and inclement weather. Universal Volcano Bay has also closed several times this season.
