As tropical storm-like conditions near Central Florida, Walt Disney World is preparing for high winds and heavy rain. Guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground have been issued letters advising them to stow belongings if staying in a camper or arranging alternate accommodations for guests in tents.
The storms are expected to intensify later this evening. The letter advises:
“As you may be aware, we are anticipating potential inclement weather this weekend. The storm may bring high winds in this area beginning Saturday, Dec. 16. As we continue to monitor the weather, we are asking that all guests remove and stow all outside items, including decor, and take in camper awnings. We ask for your assistance and cooperation in removing these items. The safety of our guests and Cast is always our first priority and we will have Cast Members available to assist with these requests.
If you’re staying in a tent, please call 407-939-2744 to make alternate arrangements.”
Disney has also canceled tonight’s Jollywood Nights event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios due to the inclement weather.
