Dining in Disney World can undoubtedly be done on a whim. And we do love to grab a new treat when we see one!

However, when we have a full day planned, we like to have the best eats in mind before we get to a Walt Disney World theme park. Don’t forget to check to see if your chosen restaurant has Mobile Order available. That can save you time because you won’t have to wait in line to order!

Snacks

When you need a little something to fill up that empty stomach space, it’s probably snack time!

Cinnamon Roll

Available at Gaston’s Tavern, the Cinnamon Roll is the star attraction. It’s a warm, gooey, sweet, practically-perfect cinnamon roll the size of your head served there! We loved it so much that we practically wrote love sonnets about it. It was THAT GOOD.

Is this the best cinnamon roll in Disney World?

If you don’t want to wait until you’re in Magic Kingdom to indulge in this ooey, gooey treat, then check out our step-by-step recipe to make these at home!

Cheshire Cat Tail

Just like the cat it’s named after, this DFB-Favorite treat tends to vanish seasonally to be replaced with holiday versions with varying colors of icing, but nothing hits home like the OG treat, complete with pink and purple sugary icing swirls. For this delicious treat, we’re heading over to Cheshire Cafe on the edge of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Cheshire Cat Tail

It’s a tail-shaped twisted pastry, filled with chocolate chips and topped with squiggles of pink and purple icing — to look just like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

DOLE Whip

What’s better than a frozen Dole Whip on a blistering hot day in Disney World? Nothing, that’s what.

Classic DOLE Whip

Dole Whip is one of the most iconic Disney desserts ever, with tons of different flavors, and even its own merch! You probably know about the classic pineapple, which is the flavor most people think of when they think of Dole Whip, but when you visit Aloha Isle in Adventureland, you’ll find several rotating flavors that can even include coconut or raspberry.

Spring Rolls

If the DFB’s sweet treat soulmate is the Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll, then the savory way to our hearts is the Spring Rolls at the Adventureland Spring Roll Cart

YUMMM –Adventureland Spring Rolls

The OG Cheeseburger Spring Rolls were the first version to steal our hearts, but the 50th Anniversary Rueben inspired spring rolls also delivered big. And we were also smitten with the more recent Chicken Cordon Bleu spring rolls. Though the price has brought tears to our eyes (and not for sentimental reasons), we still can’t help stopping by this cart each time we visit Magic Kingdom and snagging up a set of these hearty morsels.

Quick Service

Looking for a quick meal? The Quick Service restaurants at Magic Kingdom offer some unique and classic items for lunch and dinner. Take a look!

Ham & Cheese Sandwich

Yep, we’re back at Gaston’s Tavern, but this time for an unexpectedly tasty sandwich. It’s simple, it’s straightforward, it’s absolutely delicious. The Ham, Provolone, and Swiss Sandwich is served warm on a soft brioche bun with that gooey, melty cheese and salty-sweet ham.

Gaston’s Ham, Provolone, and Swiss Sandwich

The perfect option for picky eaters, but also just an all-around good choice.

Tot Dish du Jour

A hidden gem in Fantasyland, The Friar’s Nook is easy to miss as it’s just a walk-up window. However, this spot consistently delivers amazing counter-service food. One of the menu staples is their Potato Barrel (AKA Tater Tot) meals which vary seasonally. We’re fans of the Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots!

You can even find breakfast tot dishes here if you’re looking for a hearty way to start your Magic Kingdom day.

Corn Dog Nuggets

Stop what you’re doing and head over to Casey’s Corner, the home to one of long-time faves, corn dog nuggets with plastic cheese! The mini hot dogs have a thick cornbread coating and pair with almost any sauce that you put it with. Plus, they’re a great on-the-go meal!

Casey’s Corner Corn Dog Nuggets

These little nuggets of deliciousness can be a meal on their own, or share them among friends (if you can bring yourself to part with them) for a great snack.

Lobster Roll

Columbia Harbour House is a popular seafood restaurant located in Liberty Square. We recommend finding a table on the second floor for a quieter atmosphere. Not surprisingly, this spot has a nautical theme. The building is inspired by Colonial America, specifically New England’s coastal style.

Lobster Roll

Platters offer options such as fried fish and shrimp. The menu also boasts the fan-favorite Lobster Roll! The options here for seafood lovers are pretty solid, and whether you’re looking for something fresh and grilled or a fried meal, you’ve got plenty of great dishes.

Sleepy Hollow Waffles

Sleepy Hollow is a small spot over in Liberty Square. While seating is outdoors, this place also has a pretty spectacular Cinderella Castle view! It offers a variety of sweet treats and savory snacks (some large enough for a meal!) served throughout the day. They’re famous for huge and delicious WAFFLES!

Fresh Fruit & Nutella Waffle

Whether you grab the sweet and rich Fresh Fruit and Nutella Waffle or the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle, you won’t regret stopping here.

Table Service

When dining at Table Service restaurants in Hollywood Studios, we have three venues that we’re recommending today. Let’s take a look at some delicious menu items at Tony’s Town Square, Skipper Canteen, and Liberty Tree Tavern.

Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake

Sometimes, we find a dessert in Disney World that takes our breath away. And to be honest with you — we really didn’t expect it to be this one! The Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake is included in Liberty Tree Tavern’s all-you-care-to-enjoy menu, and you’ll be glad it is!

Delicious!

For those who haven’t tried it, this isn’t “cake.” It’s more like a crispy-on-the-outside, gooey-on-the-inside toffee chocolate chip cookie-ish sort of thing. The rich, buttery flavor is complimented by the bittersweet chocolate chips. Ice cream tops the whole thing off, and the dessert is drizzled with chocolate and toffee.

Pao de Quejo

Now, if you’ve ever visited Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper Canteen, you’ll know it’s one of the punniest dining spots in all of Disney World, and you’ll know that it’s also something we often refer to as a hidden gem. We visit here often because we love it and because the menu gets updated regularly. One of our favorites you’ll have to see if it’s around during your visit is the Pao de Quejo — or Brazilian-inspired cheese bread.

Like we would ever turn down Cheese Bread

Yes, it is as good as it sounds — it’s SO cheesy, and the sauces offer a nice blend of spicy and sweet. The portion is big enough to share! Again, y’all — BREAD AND CHEESE. Even if it’s not on the menu, ask your server — sometimes we’ve even been able to get an order off-menu!

Coconut Bar with Pineapple-Basil Compote and Vanilla Cream

Ready to challenge your flavor palette? You might see “basil compote” and think, that’s not dessert! But oh, no, no — you would be WRONG! Allow us to introduce you to the wonderful Coconut Bar with Pineapple-Basil Compote and Vanilla Cream. This tasty treat is made with a Vanilla Chiffon Cake with Coconut and Lime-White Chocolate Ganache. Aside from being a treat for the eyes, it’s a treat for your stomach too! The coconut flavor is delicious (we wish it had even MORE of that flavor!), and it all tastes very real (not artificial).

Delicious!

It was our favorite dessert at Skipper Canteen. The cake is soft and light, the ganache is AH-MAZING, and we seriously still can’t get over just how well the flavors mesh together — yes, including that basil!

Foot Long Mozzarella Sticks

Have you heard that we like cheese? Ok, like is an understatement, we have an ongoing love affair with all things cheese. And this new appetizer of Foot Long Mozzarella Sticks that we found at Tony’s Town Square is quickly climbing to the top of our Valentine list.

Are we telling you to make an Advanced Dining Reservation exclusively for an appetizer at a Table Service restaurant? Well, yes… and no. Be sure to grab an entree, too. But if you just wanted to order like four of the Foot Long Mozzarella Sticks and just make a meal out of that, well, we’re right there with you!
