For kids (and grown-ups) who have ever wished that they could hang out with Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Elmo or visit Hooper’s Store, Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando can make that dream a reality. In this handy, dandy guide, not only will we tell you how to get there, but everything you can do around the iconic neighborhood, too. So, let’s get going!

Going to Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando

The Sesame Street show has been charming viewers, both young and old, with its furry friends and teachable moments since it first debuted on television back in November 1969. Now, along with the Sesame Place theme parks outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and in San Diego, California, folks can also visit the world-famous street at SeaWorld Orlando.

Other theme parks have Sesame Street-themed lands, too, including Sesame Street Bay of Play at SeaWorld San Antonio, Sesame Street Safari of Fun at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Sesame Street Forest of Fun at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. However, none of these neighborhoods let visitors actually walk down a life-sized version of the famed avenue. (Previously, there was also a Sesame Street Bay of Play at SeaWorld San Diego, but it has since been rethemed to the SeaWorld Rescue Team-inspired Rescue Jr. In turn, SeaWorld San Diego‘s sister water park, Aquatica, was completely redesigned into Sesame Place.)

Opened on March 27, 2019, the six-acre Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando lets guests explore a faithful recreation of the colorful neighborhood, complete with character meet-and-greet opportunities, an award-winning parade, kid-friendly rides like Slimey’s Slider and Cookie Drop!, interactive play areas that let you enter Elmo’s world or knock on Oscar the Grouch’s trash can and other attractions. Unlike the two Sesame Place parks, however, one thing you won’t find at SeaWorld’s Sesame Street Land is water rides. (Ironic, we know, as it is SeaWorld.) So, if you’re hoping to cool off during a hot Central Florida summer, you’ll need to head next door to one of SeaWorld Orlando’s nearby sister parks, Aquatica or Discovery Cove.

Is Sesame Street Land included with your SeaWorld Orlando admission?

Yes! Unlike the two Sesame Place parks in Southern California and Pennsylvania, Sesame Street Land is just a themed area of SeaWorld Orlando. That means access to the area and its many attractions is included with your SeaWorld Orlando admission. No separate ticket is required. Where is Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando?

Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando is located in the part of the theme park that was previously home to Sea of Fun and Shamu’s Happy Harbor, directly next door to the Orca Encounter Stadium. This six-acre area offers a whole neighborhood full of attractions, including a handful of Sesame Street-inspired rides and tons of hands-on elements for interactive play, as well as character encounters, a parade, food trucks and one merchandise outlet, Hooper’s Store.

How tall does my child need to be for Sesame Street rides at SeaWorld Orlando?

Not as tall as you have to be for some other SeaWorld Orlando rides, that’s for sure, which makes Sesame Street Land perfect for families with toddlers! Unlike the park’s roller coasters and water rides, which have a minimum height requirement of between 42 inches (106.7 cm) and 54 inches (137.2 cm), rides in Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando require children to be between 36 inches (91.4 cm) and 42 inches tall if going on without a supervising companion. [Two exceptions to this are hand-held infants, who are only permitted on bench seats on the Sunny Day Carousel, and Super Grover’s Box Car Derby, which requires riders to be at least 38 inches (96.5 cm) to go on.]

Hanging Out on Sesame Street: SeaWorld Orlando Attractions, Entertainment, Dining & Shopping

Now that you know how to get to Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando, let’s talk about everything you can see and do while you’re there. From family-friendly attractions and interactive play areas filled with pint-sized thrills and hands-on fun to a real-life recreation of the neighborhood itself—right down to Big Bird’s nest, Bert and Ernie’s apartment, and Oscar’s trash can—memorable moments are around every corner in Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando. You can have your photo taken on the iconic 123 Sesame Street stoop. Talk about making unforgettable memories!

Of course, you’ll also get a chance to meet your favorite furry friends. After all, you can’t visit Sesame Street Land and not say “hello” to Elmo or Cookie Monster! But that’s not all you’ll find on Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando. When you and your kiddos aren’t experiencing the attractions or hanging out with those cuddly Muppets, you can also catch the neighborhood’s award-winning parade, grab something to eat from one of the food trucks or shop for a souvenir at Hooper’s Store. The fun is endless!

Here’s everything you can experience in Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando.

Rides

While you’ll need to go to Sesame Place in San Diego or Pennsylvania for a whole world of Sesame Street attractions, SeaWorld Orlando still has enough pint-sized thrills to keep kiddos entertained during their day at the park. In total, there are one, two, three, four, five, six rides in Sesame Street Land. Ah, ah, ah! (Sadly, one ride you won’t find in Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld is Big Bird’s Twirl ‘N’ Whirl, a classic teacup-style ride where the teacups are designed to look like Big Bird’s nest. The attraction closed a while ago and has since been deleted from both the SeaWorld Orlando website and the SeaWorld app.)

Best of all, with the exception of Super Grover’s Box Car Derby, all of them can be experienced with just a supervising companion by their side or all alone if they happen to meet the minimum height requirement, which is 42 inches for most rides in the area. The only exception to this is hand-held infants, who are not allowed unless otherwise noted.

• Abby’s Flower Tower (Must have a supervising companion if under 42″; no hand-held infants permitted) – A high-flying, child-sized (or pixie-sized) balloon tower ride that offers fairy’s-eye views as riders spin around the top in giant, colorful flower pots
• Cookie Drop! (Must have a supervising companion if under 42″; no hand-held infants permitted) – A kid-friendly drop tower inspired by Cookie Monster that bounces up and down, leaving an avalanche of chocolate-chip cookie crumbs
• Elmo’s Choo Choo Train (Must have a supervising companion if under 36″; no hand-held infants permitted) – A tiny, slow-moving train ride through Sesame Street Land with a guest appearance by the Twiddlebugs and interactive bell-ringing and horn-honking if you’re lucky enough to ride up front in the engine
• Slimey’s Slider (Must have a supervising companion if under 42″; no hand-held infants permitted) – Take a tour of Oscar the Grouch’s compost heap on Slimey, his pet worm, on this topsy-turvy boat-like attraction
• Sunny Day Carousel (Must have a supervising companion if under 42″; hand-held infants are welcome on bench seats only) – Have a good go-round atop colorful, Muppet horses on this classic ride
• Super Grover’s Box Car Derby (Must be at least 38″ or taller; riders between 38″ and 41″ need a supervising companion) – Cruise through the neighborhood alongside Sesame Street’s resident superhero on this kiddie coaster; its twists and turns are the perfect testing grounds for aspiring thrill-seekers hoping to graduate to some of the bigger roller coasters in the theme park

Hoping to get hands-on during your family visit to Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando? Interactive play areas throughout the area bring both the neighborhood and everyone’s favorite furry friends to life in a way that is equal parts fun and immersive.

Sesame Street Neighborhood

Has your child or, let’s be honest, you (it’s ok, we won’t tell) ever dreamed of strolling down Sesame Street? At SeaWorld Orlando, Sesame Street Land can make that dream a reality. Here, you can visit memorable landmarks from the television show, like Hooper’s Store, Oscar the Grouch’s trash can and more. But not only can you and your family take a walk down this iconic avenue. Thanks to interactive elements dotted throughout the neighborhood, kids (and grown-ups!) can feel like actual Sesame Street residents as they check the washing at the laundromat, talk with different Muppet friends and more. Be aware that some interactive aspects of Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando require a special bubble wand, which is available for purchase at Hooper’s Store, to make the magic happen.

Interactive play elements include:

• Backstage Queue Warm-Up – Work it out just like theatrical performers do while waiting it out in line for your favorite character
• Bert and Ernie’s Doorbell – Say “hello” to Bert and Ernie by ringing their apartment doorbell
• Bike Shop Tricycle Challenge – A motion-sensing digital game where guests use their bodies to pick up numbers and move a virtual tricycle
• Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck Challenge – Help Cookie Monster and Gonger cook up some tasty dishes by pressing buttons with the correct recipe ingredients
• Create-A-Monster – Choose different body parts and clothes to make a digital monster, then go and look for it on the windows at the Community Center
• Elmo’s Window – Pay a visit to Elmo and his pals from outside his bedroom window, where you can sing, dance and play along with them
• Laundromat – Find out what’s in the wash by popping virtual bubbles on the washing machines’ touchscreens
• Oscar’s Trash Can – Knock, if you dare, on the trashcan abode of Oscar the Grouch, but don’t be surprised if you get a cranky greeting in response
• Sesame Street Apartment Intercom – Press different apartment numbers at the building’s intercom to hear from Abby Cadabby, Rosita, Grover and others
• Two-Headed Monster Pipe Telephone – Stop by the door of the Ivy Building and speak into the pipe telephone to transform your voice into that of a friendly monster’s
• Yip Yip’s Mail Slot – Lift the handle of the Yip Yip Martians’ mail slot to catch them relaxing on the beach, partying at a disco and more

Rosita’s Harmony Hills

Does the hustle and bustle of Sesame Street and the rest of SeaWorld Orlando have you and your kiddos feeling a little stressed? Stop by Rosita’s Harmony Hills to relax for a while. Perfect for aspiring music makers, this harmonious hands-on attraction is one of the land’s interactive play areas, with places to crawl around, things to climb on and stuff to create beautiful música.

Rubber Duckie Water Works

Have the splishiest, splashiest fun with Ernie at Rubber Duckie Water Works, a splash-tastic splash pad with all sorts of aquatic elements that are sure to leave you soaking wet, like bubbling fountains, chilling blasts, pop jets and other watery features.

Character Experiences & Other Entertainment

When you aren’t taking in views of the neighborhood from the top of Abby’s Flower Tower, hanging out with Elmo from outside his bedroom window or checking out the area’s other attractions, you definitely won’t want to miss all of the awesome character meet-and-greet opportunities and entertainment offerings available around Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando. From meet-and-greets with furry friends to an award-winning parade to special celebrations, there’s a ton of fun waiting to be had.

Sesame Street Character Meet-and-Greets

No trip to Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando is complete without rubbing elbows with your favorite Sesame Street characters. Just across from Elmo’s Choo Choo Train, you can see Cookie Monster and Elmo inside the theater at their character meet-and-greet location. The interactive Backstage Queue Warm-Up gives kiddos something to do while they wait for their big moment with their favorites. You might also catch a glimpse of other Sesame Street characters strolling around the area, so be sure to take advantage of any photo opportunities.

Sesame Street Party Parade

Wave at your favorite furry friends as they cruise through the neighborhood during the Sesame Street Party Parade. Filled with a cuddly cast of characters on colorful floats (Hi, Big Bird!), as well as catchy tunes and a few special surprises (jump ropes and hula hoops!), this award-winning parade is sure to dazzle guests young and old. Even your little ones will be able to get in on the fun during group dance breaks. During certain holidays, the parade even gets a seasonal makeover, like the Sesame Street Christmas Parade. Special Events

Big Bird and Elmo love to celebrate the holidays and seasons just like, me and you. That means that Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando typically plays host to a few different special celebrations throughout the year, with each offering uniquely themed shows, parades, scavenger hunts and other activities and entertainment.

Along with the larger events below, which are specific to Sesame Street Land, the area also participates in parkwide celebrations like the SeaWorld Christmas Celebration and Halloween Spooktacular with festive fun like seasonal versions of the Sesame Street Party Parade, special shows, arts & crafts and furry friends dressed up in holiday attire. Events currently confirmed for Sesame Street at 2024 include:

Sesame Street Kids’ Weekend

Scheduled for January 2024 (for 2023, it was held on the last weekend of the month), the Sesame Street Kids’ Weekend at SeaWorld Orlando brings even more family-friendly fun to the world-famous neighborhood. Although we don’t yet know what this year’s celebration has in store, here’s what was on the schedule for the event last year:

• Story Time with Big Bird – Listen to the eight-foot-two-inch, yellow canary read stories in Big Bird’s nest
• Oscar’s Trash Can Activity – Upcycled arts and crafts made out of discarded materials
• Everyday Hero Badges – Scavenger hunt where participants collect badges celebrating positive traits

Elmo’s Birthday Celebration

Join your favorite furry friends in helping Elmo celebrate his big day during this birthday soiree. Last year, the event ran from January 28 through February 3, 2024. So, we can probably expect something similar for this year. On the schedule for this birthday party are extra-special meet-and-greets and an interactive DJ dance party, just to name a few. Other activities for 2023 include:

• Elmo’s Birthday Storytime – The cuddly red monster shares a special story from a float throughout the day
• Scavenger Hunt – Set out in search of Dory, Elmo’s pet goldfish

Dining & Shopping

Looking for a place to hang out, enjoy a bite to eat and possibly get a souvenir or two in between attractions? Then you’re in luck because Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando has plenty of opportunities for food (Sesame Street food trucks, that is!) and shopping. Here are all the dining and merchandise outlets on Sesame Street.

Food Trucks

Exploring this world-famous street can really work up an appetite. And as many foodies (and, apparently, the Muppets) know, some of the tastiest eats can be found streetside at food trucks—and that’s just what you’ll find on Sesame Street at SeaWorld. Along with Big Bird, Elmo and other Sesame Street friends, this colorful corner of the theme park is home to three different food trucks, each of them offering different tasty things to eat that both kids and adults are bound to love.

• ABC Eats – Assorted chicken tenders, like Asian Tempura, Hawaiian Grilled with island BBQ sauce and Crispy with creamy honey mustard, as well as a Turkey Pesto Sandwich
• Sesame Sips – On-the-go snacks, such as string cheese and salad, and icy treats like smoothies and Icees with vanilla soft-serve
• Yummy Yummy Nom Noms – Assorted grilled cheese sandwiches, like Hawaiian (pulled pork, cheddar cheese, bacon bits and BBQ sauce) and Turkey Melt (with tomato and American cheese), as well as Crispy Chicken Tenders
