Crews have added another layer of primer to the new Grand Avenue structure in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Though not confirmed, the structure is thought to be some kind of snack kiosk.
Grand Avenue Construction
Last week, the two walls of the structure that aren’t covered in bricks were painted with white primer.
The walls are now an off-white cream color — perhaps another layer of primer before the final paint.
Scrim and scaffolding are also down from around the structure.
A metal pole runs along the front of the structure, maybe as a support for future signage.
The brick walls of the kiosk match the rest of the Grand Avenue walls and buildings.
A white strip now runs along the top of the brick walls.
A ladder is propped up against the back wall, leading to the roof.
On the roof, a white pole is visible.
What are you hoping is served at this new kiosk? Let us know in the comments.
More About Grand Avenue
Grand Avenue is home to Muppet*Vision 3D, which opened in 1991 as one of the first representations of the Muppets in Disney Parks, and the only permanent Muppets attraction since then. As production began on Muppet*Vision 3D, there was a tentative agreement for Disney to purchase the Jim Henson Company. However, Henson’s death in 1990 ended that agreement and delayed the attraction.
Disney did purchase the theme park rights to the Muppets and eventually purchased the property entirely in 2004.
Until 2016, Muppet*Vision 3D was part of the Streets of America. After the rest of the land was demolished, it was briefly known as Muppets Courtyard. The land was named Grand Avenue in 2017.
Muppet*Vision 3D received updated projection mapping in October. The Miss Piggy fountain outside the show was refurbished around the same time.
